Hello gals...BFN, but I am still positive..

by lovethebops, Mar 31, 2007 12:00AM
Well, I worked up enough nerve to take a HPT...I got the First response, and got 1 dark line and one light line..(I hate the line ones, I love the digital, that is what I used for pregnancy#1, the line ones are too confusing for me, but I had a toddler hanging on me, so I was in a hurry)..Basically a negative. I am 3 days late, and practically convinced that I am indeed pregnant..I had this happen with my 1st pregnancy, I was several weeks late before a HPT would come back positive..guess  I'm just one of those ppl. that takes a while for the hormone to show up. Anyways, this is exactly what happened last time, so that is why I bought the 3pack value pack...I will let you know when that BFP shows up, I am still practically convinced, I've been through this the first time. Take care all, I will keep you posted. :)  ~bops

Usually I don't like to be the one to say this, but if you definately had two lines, even if one is light, it's a BFP.

Now, if you had to use an electron microscope to see the light line, I'd say you just saw the strip where the reagent is on the test.

But you are sort of implying that you saw 2 lines easily, especially with a little one hanging off of you.  If you easily saw 2 lines and read it in the time period specified by the test, you had a positive.

I meant that I had My toddler hanging off of me at the store when I bought the test, that is why I quickly grabbed the non-digital HPT.. Had I the time, I would have carefully picked out the digital tests, I prefer those to the traditional line ones.( She wasn't anywhere neaR me when I took the test:0)..I could definately see the line, it was very very faint, and not as dark as the second line...So you think the faint line counts as a line?..I thought the first line had too be as dark as the last line for it to be positive...I will test again later on next week if I still don't have my period..Thanks for the vote of confidence! :)

Also in case you aren't familiar with my history, DH and have been TTC for 5 months now, so this is a welcomed pregnancy (if it is) and I Hope to God that this my month...I'm very excited if I am! Yeeeaahh!

i used first response too. 2 lines means pregnant!!!! it doesn't matter how dark it is- it's not like an opk. congratulations. take another just to make sure, but i'm willing to bet you're pregnant :)

Try again in a few days. I was 4 days late though when I found out and I took the digital ones. So maybe go get one and test tomorrow. Best of luck!!

If you easily saw 2 lines, that's a positive.  If you had to really scrutinize it, holding it very close to the light, use a magifying glass , hold it this way and that..etc..I wouldn't have as much confidence.

But as someone else said, it's not like an OPK where the line has to be as dark or darker than the control line.  If you see easily see 2 lines, it's positive.

hi , a line is a line ! cant get false + ,  re test ! good luck x x

I had the same problem when I thought that I was pregnant the first time around.  My line was really faint but when I did some research on it, the test was positive.  The reason for the dark line vs a light line is a hormone thing. If you are just pregnant you have less of the HGH in you causing the lighter line, try it again in three weeks and your line will be darker.  This is all it is about.  I would suggest a visit to your DR and a blood test to confirm.  Their urine tests are basically the same thing.

I was wondering if you took a test.  I agree, a line is a line.  It says it right on the package.  they don't have to be the same color!  congrats!!!!!
