Help! Brown Discharge 5 days after Period

Hi, I'm 27 and have had regular periods my whole life. I have been experiencing brown discharge usually 5 days after my period ends. My cycle had changed in August. In July I received my period on the 7th and then a week after it ended  I experienced alot of brown discharge. In August, my cycle changed. Instead of receiving it the 7th of every month, I receive it the 15th of every month. Did something happen for it to just change like that? Now after my period ends I am fine for 5 days and then on the 5th day after my period I start getting reddish brown discharge when I wipe after I urinate. It usually lasts 5 or 6 days. It's light. Definitely not like a normal period, but could this be old blood? My period is still regular, but why is this constantly happening each month on the same day after it ends. I'm worried it could be much worse, but I have no pain and my periods are regular, but this brown discharge is annoying. Could there be any other reasons? Please help!

I know it's normal to get brown discharge right at the end of your period but I don't get that I get this discharge 5 days after the end of my period. I'll be fine for 5 days and then it starts.  It only appears when I wipe but it's not a lot. I will see my doctor soon. I may also have a thyroid problem bc I've been trying to lose weight and it doesn't seem to be happening no matter what I do. Thanks for all your help! If u know what else could be wrong please let me know. Thanks!

It could be that your hormones have gone out of balance.  You could ask a gyn doctor to test you at those certain days they would tell you when of your cycle (I think one might be the third day of your mense- been a long time, so not sure) to check your female hormone levels and also a certain day to check your FSH.  You might also get your thyroid function tested, since that can mess with menses.  I had polyps that were suspected of causing old blood bleeding between menses.  I had an endometrial biopsy done that showed abnormal proliferation of the uterus lining.  So, I got a D&C and got the polyps removed to see if it would help.  They tried progesterone pills, but they didn't help.  I later learned I had endometriosis, which may have had something to do with it.  Anyway, if it gets to bothersome, how about checking in with your gyn?
