Help me..

I know this isnt the board to ask this on but you have all always benn helpful..

I have had a knee problem for the past 4 yrs..i have Chondromalacia..which is it may dislocate (slip out of place), sublux (partially slip out of place), fracture, develop degenerative arthritis, or develop a tracking problem. A tracking problem refers to the fact that the patella stays in place in front of the knee, but it no longer remains centered in the front part of the femur known as the trochlear groove.

It usually goes away with treatment..but ive been getting it done for the past 4 yrs and it keeps gettin worse..i wear a brace when i play softball..but it still pops..all the time now..ive been on crutches lately bc itll even pop when I walk..i went to the hospital and they basically blew me off..I have an appt. tom. with an Orthopedic..the only other thing to do to make it better is surgery and only 5% of people usually get it.

Do you think it would be ok to ask the surgeon to just do the surgery and not waste time doing any other tests???..i cant deal with this pain anymore..i cant do anything without being in pain and its a big in convience to me..i cant walk up and down stairs, cant run, cant swim...etc..

Any help is appreciated!

i assume you've been doing physical therapy in order to strenghten the weaker side of your knee.  usually in a tracking problem, the outside knee muscles are stronger and pull the knee in that direction - so the inside muscles need to be strengthened.  my daughter is a dancer (ballet) and dances 6 to 7 x/week, and had that problem last year.  the exercises really helped her.  good luck :)

I'd have the surgery.  If this is the first specialist you have spoken to, you might find that he is more helpful than the general practitioners you have spoken to, and more likely to consider surgery as a viable option.
