Help!!!.....Can anyone tell me what are Fybroids???...Is it cancer??

My obyn after she did an ultrasound on me to see if I still had my baby and I didnt but then she told me she thinks I might have fybroids. What are these? Is it or can it be cancer? This is really scaring me. She also told me it could make it hard for me to have another baby if they get too big. Does anyone know anything about this?

I also have fibroids in my breasts. My doctor also found some when he did an ultrasound.. So I guess those are called uterine fibroids? It's definitely not cancer and really are harmless, except that they have a potential to be painful!

I have 2 large fibroids which were discovered after I had pregnancy problems. Two pregnancies failed, possibly due to the fibroids, but I then went on to have two healthy boys, so don't worry too much. You can carry full term even with fibroids. I will not do anything about mine unless they begin to cause further problems but it is worth taking the advice of the health professionals. Good luck

I have them in my breasts and have repeatedly been told there is NOTHING to worry about. I have heard about women that have so many in their breasts that it feels like they have a couple of rolls of quarters in there. Don't stress ... MANY women have them.

A fibroid is not cancer.  It's a kind of an overgrowth of tissue.  A fibroid can take up a lot of room in a uterus, and also interfere with your period (make it irregular or longer).  So it's good to have uterine fibroids removed.  Google "uterine fibroid" for a lot of info.  The only thing is, don't let any doctor tell you you automatically need a hysterectomy, you can have a fibroid removed without going that far.
