Hemmoroids

Ok embarrasing but I just found out I need surgery for internal and external hemmoroids, Im really worried Ive heard many negative things about this surgery, I have had this problem for 12 years and I can t handle it any more its gotten so painful, any feed back will be appreciated.

thanks for the advice, I like the short term pain for long term improvement , hadnt thought of it that way, but you are right !!

sorry i havent had the surgery myself but from what i know it is quite sore... however it sounds like its already pretty bad - so how much worse can it be?  You certainly can't go on living as you are.
I have had internal and external surgery  in that region and my advice is to take the pain killers lol! (it does really hurt - waaaaaaaay worse than childbirth - thats for sure)
If you can take paracetamol and diclofenac regularly (depending on what your docs prescribe) and only take the opiods (eg codeine/morphine) when the pain is really bad - as they can be constipating and the last thing you want to be doing with a sore bum is straining to pass a hard bowel movement.  Obviously if you have had long term problems with constipation make sure you are doing everything you can to get it under control.
hope this helps, and remember that it is short term pain for long term improvement - after all you cant live another 12 years as you have.
