The reason I thought I may have been tested was - cuz I had a missed m/c & they ran a chlamydia test so I just assumed they checked for as many STD's as possible to see why my babies h/b just stopped.
Information is POWER. The more you have the better! And if you have a visual outbreak then seeing a general idea of what DIFFERENT rashes look like might help. Not just images of herpes but other types of rashes. I have seen images of different rashes from mild to severe. NOT just the worst case scenario.
You can never have too much information!
Having herpes myself for the last 14 years I would not look at the pictures on the websites to determine if I had it or not. These pictures are always the worst case scenarios of herpes.
Many herpes symptoms can be confused with other symptoms such as jock itch, yeast, paper like cuts and many more such as general genital irritation. Most carriers of genital herpes have NO symtoms at all and are known as asymptomatic carriers. I would personally have a swab taken of the area to determine if it is HSV. Or at least a blood test taken. Another respondant said that they were pretty sure that they have been tested for herpes.
Well apparently they haven't because you have to specifically ask for a HSV test as they are not routinely done. This would be done with a blood test. And if they have had it done, they would know.
So although in your situation you may not have HSV, but you very well could too. Don't rely on those internet pictures. Hardly any of us have them that bad. Good Luck.
Oh and you can actually search out images of different rashes and compare to waht you have.. Go to Yahoo.. Then type in like Herpes images and you should get a look of what herpes looks like.
Just a suggestion..

Does NOT sound like herpes to me but then again I am NO expert. All you can do is see a dr but I did not think herpes looked like a "rash". Good luck to you. I get a little itching and burning sometimes after my periods and I believe I have been tested for herpes and noone has ever said I had it. Maybe it is just irritation from your pads. Just see your dr.
I agree with Jenni about getting to your local Health Dept. or clinic. Even an ER would be better than nothing. Hate to say it, but you NEED a doctor. Find a way to get in to see one. And keep your partner protected by using condoms EVERY time.
Hope you are feeling better VERY soon--J
It sounds like Herpes to me. Since you are diabetic, you will be more susceptible to any type of infection including viral. Herpes is a very common STD, and people who have it may not even know because it stays dorment, or they ignore the breakout and think of it as a 'rash'. Some people only have one break out in their entire life, others arn't so lucky. Tears and sores around the vaginal opening is pretty much a for sure fact it's herpes. You might have little sores inside your vagina, where it feels like a really bad urinary tract infection when you go pee, that's the herpe sores, you may also have some tiney white sores on your vagina lips.
I had a friend who has one herpe, and its on her left butt cheek and she gets it once in a blue moon. But she had her first break out and it was really bad. If this is your first break out, go to planned parenthood, or any community clinic and they will do a check, and give you medication for free. You take it for 10 days, and it will clear up. Until then, get some yeast infection cream and drink LOTS of water, that should also help clear it up. If you are or have been sexually active and not use protection, then chances are that you will get it. If you had say 10 partners in the last year, you probably wont be able to find out who gave it to you. It can take anywhere from a few weeks, to a year to show up on your body. And who knows, maybe this will be your last big outbreak. If you notice something, dont hesitate to use Peroxide and neosporine. They're sores, and need to be cleaned just like anywhere else.. It's not curable, once its in your blood, it stays there.
If you have it, dont think it's the end of the world, and that you will never find a guy, or have kids, because that's not true. Just take care of yourself and be honest, and always use protection. :-D
There are LOTS of websights to get all sorts of information about ANY STD out there.
I wrote a bunch, but I hope it helps.
Good Luck!
