How long can Plan B delay your second period?

I took Plan B a little over a month ago and had my period the day after I took it. My period for this month, however, has yet to arrive - I'm about 3-5 days late (based on my estimates and tracking). During mid august I had my usual pre period symptoms but those came and have disappeared entirely.

I've taken hpts and they've come back negative (once a few days before my period was due, once the day it was due and one yesterday).

Any insight on what is happening? I'm not sure how long I'm supposed to wait until my period is going to come back. Would appreciate anyone who's gone through something similar to share their experience. Thanks!

Plan B is a hefty dose of hormones that upset your hormonal balance (how it works to prevent a pregnancy)---  so having late and irregular periods after is pretty normal.  Some women are irregular for two to three months after taking Plan B.  So, use good protection because you don't know when you will ovulate again but otherwise, it's a waiting game to see when you become regular again after your hormones balance back out.  good luck

Thanks for the response. I figured that the pill would have dramatically affected my cycle.

Would you recommend to keep taking hpts to check or do you think its unnecessary? The waiting game is really stressful!!
