Well why would anyone choose mirena after a horrible removal the last time?! This girl would! I am getting it out. This is horrible. I have developed panic attacks shortness of breath an even chest pains! I'm done I just want my body back. Hubby and I talked and im just gonna go it hour birth control for a while. My body needs to heal. It has gone through a lot in the past year and a half. I went through my miscarriage and then my daughter came 3 months ago. I am so greatful for my daughter. I'm very worried that e will get pregnant if I cOmpletely go off bc but I'm willing to take tht chance.

Kellykae hang in there..... Ssbd to you. Try not to stress as stress makes it a lot harder. I'm praying for you.

Hello All!  I havent updated everyone in a little while.  I had my 30 week appointment yesterday she said the my cervix is still closed up tight, and baby's head is down!  Im so happy to hear that.  Also she should weight about 3 pounds now.  Her being head down could explain all the hip and back pain ive been feeling.  Also i have trouble sleeping, i am up on and off all night.  It's not easy to get up at 5:45am everyday after spending so much time awake at night.  Oh well there's nothing i can do about it.  Oh and i officially put in my request off for maternity leave, it will be Jan 29th-April 1st.  If she comes before Jan 29th, then it will start whenever she arrives.  68 days til my due date!!!

SSSSBD to all still TTC!!

Did my glucose test yesterday. Baby's heartrate was between 130-140. Tummy measured 28 inches. Only gained 10lbs so far. Got my results today from the test. I'm mildly anemic so its iron pill time for me. But everything else was good. My blood sugar was a little low but they said that it as ok.

We also got our DD a new kitty last night. She is currently occupying my lap. She always wants me with her, she'll meow if I'm away.

I am glad that I found this tonight. I am 30 years old and my husband and I want to have another baby. (#3) I got my IUD removed last month and I have yet to have a period. However, my stomach has been cramping and I have been feeling sick to my stomach. I was hoping that I was pregnant but scared to take a test because that would be to good to be true. My doctor told me that it was okay to start trying already. I hope that I did not make a mistake by getting to IUD. Does anybody know how long it will take to get my cycles back or how long it will take to get pregnant , is there anything that I can do to make it sooner?

Hey, welcome to the forum. I can imagine how frustrated you must be, it took us 2 years and 2 m/cs to conceive after mirena. I too already have a child. So this was soul destroying waiting so long. So your doc says your not O. This is where they should be giving you medication to bring O on and help you and partner conceive. (O means ovulation). If I were you then after 3 years, id be at my doctor and trying to attend a fertility specialist as there ARE things that can bring on O. This has happened to a lot of women since having Mirena, its a horrid horrid contraception. You could, while your waiting to see someone about your current fertility, try to go on the pill to regulate your cycles for a couple of months and see how you go when you stop it again. Good luck with your journey ad SSBD to you x :)

Welcome to a very supportive community, you will find if you stick with it, you will make a lot of good friends.
Anyway, I have yet to read that anyone has got pregnant as soon as removal, however its not impossible. A lot of women have taken a lot of days for there period to start after mirena removal, I think the longest ive seen is 70 odd days. Every month for up to 6 months after removal, i thought I was pregnant and so did most other ladies, seems to be a side effect of removal.
As for ttc right away, personally, I would let yourself have a few cycles, Mirena thins the lining of the womb, which is how pregnancy is prevented, so if you were to get pregnant right away, you may end up with a miscarrage (miscarriage) as the lining not thick enough to hold the egg. Again, not saying its impossible though.
I had Mirena for 7 months and we took 2 years and 2 miscarrages to get pregnant, I have a son already, had a lot of problems ttc and ended up attending the fertility clinc. Today though I am 30 weeks pregnant with a little girl. Other women on here have goten pregnant within a few months to a year, however some are still trying after 2-3 years and some of these women again already have children.
I hope this helps a bit and I hope you stay with us as you wil find a lot of support here from the ladies ttc and the ladies pregnant or been here so long they have their baby now. Good luck on your journey and SSBD to you x :)

So I am waiting to get my mirena removed. I should have never got this again but god I did learn my lesson! I have never had these reactions before. Now I am just scared that I will end up pregnant again! My daughter is just now 3 1/2 months. Although I am not opposed to it I don't think I can handle another baby right now. That would be number 4! I am exclusively breast feeding and pumping so I should be good. Good luck to everyone

Hey everyone, this is for the ladies who arent on very often and will miss the journal. Went for my 30 week midwife appointment today, everything is good, baby girl seems very happy she says. Head down like she has been for past 2 weeks. HB 130-150bpm. No stresses, blood pressure still a bit low though not worried about that, when Im dizzy I just sit down. Only thing that would be of little concern is she is measuring a bit small, midwife not to worried now, but to go back in two weeks and if their is even another half a cm of a difference then need to get yet another scan to make sure everything is alright.

Called the labour ward there and booked myself in for the breast feeding classes as I never fed DS this way. I really want to try this time. Im older and wiser and wanna try have that special bond. I can only try. The classes start on 5th January for 4 weeks, Ill be on my 35th week. She happened to mention as well that the most important class will be on 19th January, my 30th birthday, so guess what Ill be doing on my 30th, lol. All worth it though. :)

My iud was sitting sideways!! I'm so done with birth control! I
Have already made the mention that if I do then I do but I never want to get the iud again. I have had so many anxiety attacks it's unreal and them I went as far as to get put on meds and I also noticed that's milk supply has decreased. I only had it in since sept an I was done. The funny thing is is that I feel a lot better and it has Only been hours!

I had my iud removed on the 7th of november... my period came on the 15th and lasted 6 days. We have been trying since the day I got it taken out. I have been really anxious lately and I gained so much weight in the past month. I hope I can get pregnant soon. How long should I wait before taking a pregnancy test??
Blank
1115543_tn?1328806510
Ok, so you have had one cycle on the 15th of November since removal, If you have to test this month I would be looking at testing around the 10-12th december. I wouldnt get your hopes up to high, the iud thins the lining of the womb so an egg cnt implant, thats how it works, so your body hasnt had enough time to let that thicken up to hold a fertilised egg. Another thing you will probably find is for months you will have phantom pregnancy symptoms, cos most of thewomen on here did and personally mine lasted 6-8 months. Thought every month I was pregnant and nothing. You should really try to leave your body a few cycles as due to the thining of the womb if you do get pregnant then there is more chance of having a m/c cos the egg cant stick.
Please realise though that I am not sayng it is IMPOSSIBLE, but very rare. It has taken me 2 years and 2 m/c's to get pregnant this time, and I already have a son, who I fell with no problem. Im currently 30+2 weeks pregnant with a baby girl. Some women have been lucky to fall after a few months and others are still ttc from removal 2-3years + later. I hope it is a quick journey for you and that you stay with this forum as all the ladies are very helpful and supportive. Even women who have been through ttc, had there babies and some of the babies are now 1, they still pop in to lend a hand and offer support and advice. Good luck and SSBD to you. :)

Hi everyone,
I have been reading a lot of posts on this website and it is great. Very supportive. I had my IUD inserted May 2009 (no periods while on it) and had it removed October 21, 2011. It was great as a contraceptive, except for a couple of problems. Other than that it was okay, but never going to return on it. I am currently one of those ladies that are playing the waiting game for AF to return I am patiently waiting for her arrival. I am on day 44 with nothing. Again, I have all the symptoms of pregnancy but of course am not. Had my complete physical yesterday and my GP said that it definitely can take awhile, but not too panic and in a couple months if nothing then to return and he will put me on Vitrex. He doesn't want to right now as it can cause multiples apparently. I told him I was fine with it, but he rather see Mother Nature do her thing. Anyways, that is my Mirena story. Lol. I am currently ttc#3. I have to girls right now; Keira 4-1/2 yrs and Brody 2-1/2. Thanks for listening. ....I will keep you updated on my progress. It is definitely frustrating but my DH and I are still having fun regardless without AF present.;)

Hey there...  Back in 2010, I had my Mirena removed in March...  I had the initial removal bleeding...  then went 45 days with no period.  The docs did blood work and said I wasn't ovulating.  They put me on clomid and I got pregnant the first month that I took it.  Sophia is now 8 months old.  I took the clomid in mid june 2010 and conceived July 5th.  It took a few months for the docs to test me, but they said that Mirena can stop a woman from ovulating and sometimes you just need a kick.  Good Luck!!

Well, to everyone else...  AF still hasn't shown..  CD 47 now...  11 negative POAS pregnancy tests..  I get to see the doctor next wednesday to see if I have a cyst or something that stopped my AF..  they will do some bloodwork and  maybe a sono to check it out.  I really don't want another baby right now if at all since I have 5 children now...but at least if I was pg, I would know what's going on.  I wouldn't mind another, but I am already so busy...but hey, what's one more...  however, the doc is pretty sure I am not pg since I have had so many negative tests.

Good luck to everyone ttc.

I did buy an OPK for this month, cycles have been regular since removal, PMS has been hell... Did have a faint positive prego test in October and then an early misscarage. Both of us are taking multivitamins and extra vitamin C, we do like to go to the bar and have cut back on that considerably (funny because our daughter was FAR from planned and a product of alcohol...).  We have both been under a lot of stress the past couple months, things have calmed down now though.  Plus, I'm a nurse so it's even more irritating that I can't fix this whole issue...So, we'll keep trying, i get to start peeing on the ovulation sticks on Monday.  We also have 3 girls that are pregnant at work, they all have used the same office chair... thinking of rubbing on it for good luck!  Happy to hear your pregnancy is going well!
Blank
1115543_tn?1328806510
I think you should have a go of that chair, lol. Some other tips that I have read about for ttc include:
Partner taking Zinc for higher sperm count
Evening Primrose for you up until Ovulation each month for cervical mucus
Always finish Bding with your partner on top or behind and then place a pillow under your hips to encourage the sperm
NEVER go to the bathroom until 30mins after intercourse, just releases sperm
Preseed lubricant is sworn by by most women on here, keeps sperm where it should be
I cant think of anything else right now, but thats some of the tips ive heard and read. Remember to be taking your prenatals even though you are just ttc as it also helps and your already prepared when you do conceive.
Sorry you had chemical pregnancy in October. Not nice :(
Thanks for kind words about my pregnancy. Sending SSBD your way, best of luck :)

I really hope that I can conceive soon... I only had the mirena in for a year and it was ok. Nothing really out of the normal, my period has always been irregular so the mirena wasnt much of a change there. I wanted to take it out before I even decided to have another baby because it was hurting. I had gone to check it out with my doctor but they told me everything was fine. A nurse went as far as to tell me that it takes 6 months for your body to get used to it... I told her to check the chart because I had it for a little over a year. lol. I am 23 years old and my son is almost 5, so I decided that its now or never! I just hope it doesnt take too long.

Thanks for your story! October 19 and 20th I had really light spotting and then this past Saturday I had the same thing. So, hopefully this is a sign af will start shortly. I am going to give it a few more weeks and if I do not get it, I will return to my GP and talk to him about my options. I had blood work done this past Friday to check my thyroid levels....and like I said before my DH and I are still getting busy regardless...Lol! ;)

Don't know who remembers me from October, but here is my info just in case
Had Mirena in 2 1/2 years
Mirena out: October 7th
First period: October 9th (yes I'm sure it was my period not removal bleeding)
Second period: November 6th

Now when I was on in October, I said me and my husband were going to wait until January to TTC, well after my period this month (second cycle since Mirena removal) we decided to NTNP (not try, not prevent) until January, and If I didn't get pregnant, then actively try in January as planned.

Well, we didnt have a lot of time to BD this month, so, besides a few days ago, we BD literally ONCE with no protection so far this month and......

I'M PREGNANT!

I really don't think the Mirena messes you up... I just think some people have a harder time than others getting pregnant, even if it was easy with a previous pregnancy, there are no guarantees. Keep faith it will happen when it's meant to happen.  :-D

I have to say a huge CONGRATULATIONS!! Yeah I do remember you from October. A BFP, thats brilliant!! HH9M!

I still have to disagree though on Mirena, I think its the other way, I think after it, some women are just lucky like yourself to get pregnant, as more women have had problems than not. Anyway, the month we got our BFP I think you were lucky if BD once that month too. Crazy isnt it?! lol

Keep us all posted on your pregnancy and again HH9M and beyond. x :)

Aw, went and made my cereal this morning and had to run spit it out, honestly thought was gonna throw up. Sat for 5 mins then ate it slowly and in small amounts. Managed some. Feel sick still now, I sure hope its just an off day and sickness and nausea isnt back in full swing. Got my anti sickness tab in and hoping for the best.

DS got up this morning hoping for bad snow so he could have a snow day instead of school, no such luck. Its been coming on and off, but not bad enough to close the school yet. Aw well, its only start of Dec, plenty time.

Think might try lie down for a half hour or so. We shall see.

Call me crazy, but im getting the mirena again after this baby.  I loved having no periods!  The only real issue i had with it is it took us 11 months to concieve (conceive) after i had it removed, and since i might not even want another one after this baby, im not worried about that.

Been awhile since I have checked in.  I am 36 weeks and 4 days PG.  I had my Mirena removed March 11th and got PG somewhere around April 8th (28 days after removal).  I normally had my period through out mirena and was expecting it two weeks after removal and it showed and then never came back bc I was prego, I got my BFP on April 23rd.
I think many have to remember that many people get the mirena removed every day and do not have a problem with conception.  There is no reason for them to search how long it takes to conceive after mirena on the internet because they never had any problems.  You will always hear more bad experiences then you will good experiences on anything on the internet.  I do however feel that the mirena does have bad effects on some people and others it does not.  Just like any other contraception like the pill.
I have already spoken to my physician about getting back on mirena after I have this baby.  I have to wait 6 weeks after delivery.
Tomorrow I have my last ultrasound to see if baby is head down and to see how big he is.  I am getting way to anxiousl  I am ready for his arrival, just a few weeks left hopefully.
SSBD and HH9M to all of you.

I am gonna agree with you, I think Mirena does certain things to different people. You were very lucky with or without the Mirena to get pregnant after 1st cycle off mirena. People who have been on nothing or just the pill cant even get that. It does cause a lot of problems for some women, however other women can just sail thru everything. I dont mean that in a bad way at all. Good luck on your scan today, hope you get a pic and we can see again. :) x

I am shattered ladies, have tried to get back to bed twice with no joy. My sleep last night was approx 1amish until 4.10am. I have no idea what is waking me. I think next week at midwife Im gonna mention it as you cant possibly function on that little sleep.

DS has hand foot and mouth disease, pop is still unwell with that sickness bug and i think i feel under the weather due to lack of sleep and just general pregnancy. Aw well.

Hope all you ladies are enjoying your run up to Christmas, Only 19 shopping days left!! :)

okay, I went to the doc today since I am 3 weeks late...  Doc said I gained 8 lbs in last 8 months so he says that's why my period stopped.  He did a urine pregnancy test, which was negative, and gave me a scrip for provera and  BC pills.

Sounds odd that he didn't want to do blood work or anything... but okay..

Baby Tabitha is here! She was two weeks late in the end, due 17th Nov, but born on 1st December. A nice, big 8lbs 3 ozs, which surprised us, as I had been measuring small. When they plonked her on my chest, I was rather taken aback at her size - but she is very healthy and settled.

So to recap my Mirena journey - I had the Mirena for about a year, but hated the side effects - I put on weight, was constantly bloated and felt pregnant every month. Lost count of the number of pregnancy tests I took, as getting pregnant on the Mirena, while very, very rare, is dangerous as there is a high chance of ectopic pregnancy. After having the Mirena removed, we were trying for a baby, and again I felt pregnant every month, fat, bloated, hormonal. It took us 11 months and one miscarriage to get that BFP, and now our gorgeous daughter is finally here.

Good luck to all those who are still on that rollercoaster of ttc - and hh9m to those who have had theirs.

xx

All my updates and things are about my pop as next tobeing pregnant tha te biggest thing going on in my life right now. But m gonna post here about pregnancy.
So at the midwife last Thursday I was measuring 28 and a half cms at 30 weeks, so I was short 1 and a half, she was concerned but not overly worried, so from then I was kinda monitoring my bump and weight. I didnt gain any weight at all and felt my bump looked smaller and even in my jacket seemed smaller, so went to doc yesterday for an unrelated matter. Thought I would just mention it, he said not to worry about how much I weighed, itwas more the measurement of my bump that mattered and how big baby girl actually is, which I will find out on 27th at my growth scan. He did however measure my bump and measured me at 31cms. As I am 31 weeks today, thats right on target and means in 6 days my bump has actually grown 2 and a half cms rather than shrunk. He said maybe baby girl just in a different position and thats why I have more room in my coat.
Thats my update, midwife a week today again for 32 week appointment.

The strangest thing happened yesterday... I was making chicken and after smelling it my stomach got upset. I thought it maybe just smelled weird but I had no time to make it to the bathroom. After I finished I thought it was over but I had to make another trip to the restroom, same thing happened this morning. I dont want to get my hopes up too much but I thought I would share it with all you ladies and hopefully get some feedback =]

my friend got her mirena out last month and decided that since my husband and I are trying to get pregnant, her and her boyfriend should start trying.  Never mind the fact that her 4 year old isn't potty trained and she and her bf fight all the time.  Well, 2 days ago she told me she was pregnant.  It's rather difficult to be happy when we are trying to do things the "right" way.  It's very irritating when I'm peeing on OPK sticks and they show no surge, taking several vitamins a day as is my husband, monitoring cervical mucus and BBT and cut back on my coffee, having to cut back on sex from daily to every other day.  She thinks about a baby and is pregnant....

I read that you are going to try breastfeeding.  Remember that it can be challenging and yet rewarding at the same time.  I breast fed both of my kids and it was wonderful.  I never had to get up to make a bottle... It takes an average of 3 weeks to get the hang of it, and then your baby's feeding habbits may change of course.  Remember to relax otherwise your milk won't let down, watch what you eat: if spicy or gassy foods affect you, it will affect your baby, lanolin is your friend as is a good breast pump.  Medulla's are the best, though expensive, well worth it.  I have helped many of my friends and patients with breast feeding, some have succeeded, others were uncomfortable and switched to formula.  The best choice is whatever makes you and your baby most comfortable and healthy.  PS, I lost all my baby weight within 3 weeks breastfeeding...

Just heard all of these stories about crazy, clotty, heavy bleeding and I just had a regular ol' period. Yay! Well anyways...keep you all posted with ttc#3!!! :D

If these foods dont normally turn your stomach and you are at at least 10dpo I would test. Your not being silly. I get my BFP at 10dpo and that same day my morning sickness kicked in. Its not always at 6 weeks like the net and some people say. Good luck and let us know if you get that BFP.
SSBD to you, xx

First about your comment, I think every woman ttc on here has felt the way you do about people round about them getting pregnant. And you put on that fake smile and say congratulations anyway. Its horrible and always seems to be the wrong people who get pregnant before us women who are really ttc and deserve it. Your time will come and you'll be a great mum again. SSBD to you.

Thank you for your reply on breastfeeding, it wasnt off putting or on the other hand forceful in either direction which is probably one of the best pieces of advice so far. No judgement. I will try to feed myself, however I do have a tub of formula here in case I cant do it, or baby girl cant latch on. Im gonna wait until I know if baby girl is taking to breastfeeding and that I can do it before I buy a breast pump. Thanks again for advce.

SSBD to you again. x :)

Yay for af coming!! Im so glad she has finally arrived and you can start ttc. My af wasnt bad either on the first one, it was my 2nd and 3rd ones that were bad. That may not happen for you though. Good luck now that you can start your journey and SSBD to you xx

Oh my god thanks for your input. I thought I was out of my mind. =]
its been really hard to think of something other than this awful taste in my mouth... With my first pregnancy I lost so much weight during the first trimester because I couldnt keep anything down. I hope it wont be the same case this time around. I think I am going to wait to test until saturday. Wish me luck ladies!!

Ok so along with not being able to sleep well for no reason at all, no i've been getting leg cramps that wake me up!  So frustrating.  I guess my body is trying to get me used to being up all night.  I still work my 40 hours a week and i wake at 5:45am everyday, its starting to get tough! I've been going to bed at 9pm so i can at least get a little more sleep.  Also yesterday my mom and sister told me that it looks like that baby dropped, i kinda see it too! So exciting!

isnt that how it happens?  it took us 11 mos. to concieve (conceive) while all around me people were getting pregnant, and 1/2 of them were accidents!  Your time will come though =)

K_m8  You should test!  I got my positive at 9 dpo!

Anthon- Now time to get to work!  My 1st couple periods were very heavy and clotty, maybe your next ones will be ?  Dont worry if they are, it doesnt last more than a couple cycles.

I am supposed to get AF on the 13th and I dont have any of the PMS symptoms... I have to hold it together for another day.  I'm very stuck in the middle because I dont want to get my hopes up too much but at the same time I cant help and be excited!!!

I was 10dpo when I got my BFP. At 8dpo it was negative and wasnt gonna bother testing again then at 10dpo I had to check as was to get the dye in my uterus in a couple days so they tell you to test the 3 days before. BFP. Could be seen in a photo, though it was faint, you can check out my pics if you want as tests on there.

Good luck and SSBD xx :)

So my little peanuts got to go see Santa today. Wow! Did we get stopped by so many people, especially the cute little elderly woman saying how adorable they were in their dresses. Their pic came out really good. Then Grandma took them to Disney Live tonight. This big Disney Princess musical-type show. I'm excited to pick them up from Grandma's in the morning to see how their evening went because it was a surprise......it feels nice with no kids in the house right now ;) .....silence.

what a nice weekend!  I love suprises.  I bet they had a great time!

I also got some alone time away from my boys.  My son wanted a hotel pool party for his birthday, so we checked in on Saturday and had the party and when the party was over my boys decided they wanted to go with grandma for the rest of the weekend, so DH and I had a nice night alone at the hotel, and had a nice breakfast at the cafe in the morning. I told him that that was probably going to be our last night away from home before the baby is born and we're at the hospital.

Hey ladies, 32 weeks tomorrow. 8 official weeks to go, but anything from 5-10 for me. In Scotland they let you go 14 full days over your date before they will induce you. Im so looking forward to being a mummy again and time just seems to have stopped, lol. Everyday feels like a week. Was supposed to have my growth scan on Tuesday 27th Dec, however they made a mistake and that particular area of the hospital closed except for emergencies seen as its christmas. Its been moved to 30th, I know its only 3 days later, but so disappointed, lol. Was sooooo looking forward to seeing baby girl again. I know I will, just having to wait a bit longer.
Stopping eating heavy foods like meats such as sausage, chicken, red meats as they make my stomach feel really heavy and bring on nausea.

Blank
1115543_tn?1328806510
Yeah, Ill be certain to let you know what she weighs and what thy are estimating her weight to be at birth. Im only getting the extra scan at 34 weeks as my BMI was 0.5 under when I fell pregnant. They have to make sure that she is growing enough. Ill probably post on fb that day too, but Ill be sure to drop you a note on here. Im really excited about seeing baby girl again, I just got disappointed cos I would have to wait 3 more days, lol.
How are you keeping? I sure hope your good, and all is well.

We've recieved our donation of Christmas gifts for my DD from her school. They even had donations of newborn to 3 month clothes for my bump! and I got our first package of diapers! My Sister in Law gave us their baby swing as their son is a little too big for it now.

I took plenty of pictures and posted them. I feel so blessed.

I had my Mirena removed 11/11/11 and had a period on 11/28 and ovulated on 12/12 so my cycle came right back. One thing I have noticed is that I did not have peak cervical mucus leading up to ovulation and am guessing that is because my hormones are completely straight yet. It can take about 3 months for cycles to go back to normal so I'm told.

Been suffering constipation for a while, but was bad there, had been 5 days today I wouldnt have been, so as you can imagine I was feeling very crappy and loads nausea with being so bagged up. Finally managed to get to the bathroom about 2 hours ago and feeling worse than before I went. I dont know if its simply because I have finally managed to empty myself out. SORRY IF THIS TMI. I just feel terrible, to be honest ive had more bad days than good since hitting the 3rd trimester. Its like the first all over again. I love the fact Im gonna be blessed with a baby again but Im not enjoying all the symptoms that come with it. Ill take it though. You gotta, but apart from gotta, I guess it all means everything is going well.
I have no temperature, but taking flushes then im freezing. The weathers not great so I should probably be cold, but I dont wanna turn the heating on cos when I flush, its to much. 7 weeks and 5 days to go, heres hoping they dont drag and I have more better days than crappy ones. Maybe some of how I feel is down to extreme lack of sleep. Last night was 3 hours of golden sleep, lol. Cant sleep  during the day either.

Sorry ladies, moan over, I just needed to get out how Im feeling cos DF dont understand, clearly as hes never been pregnant. He does try his best though and stayed home from football with me today. Thanks for listening.

I never got EWCM during any of my cycles while TTC.  Try using preseed, thats what i did.

Baby2929--  I know exactly what you mean about feeling like you're back in the 1st trimester.  The 3rd trimester has been rough on me.  I too go through bouts of constipation, i cant sleep, i get leg cramps, i feel sick sometimes, i can't breathe, my ribs hurt, i waddle, i swell at night, i get sharp pains in my vagina, my back hurts, i go through hot and cold flashes, i breathe like i walked up a flight of stairs, and the list goes on and on.  But you're right it's so worth it, and i feel more blessed than ever!
Hang in there

SSSSBD to everyone TTC, i hope you get your BFP's before the new year!

So I got my Mirena out in March of this year and i have been trying to get pregnant ever since and I can't! I am getting so frusrated and I am so worried that i can't get pregnant now! I have 1 daugher that is 3 and she is goingto be 4 in January and I just want 1 more baby and it seems like it just won't happen for me! Does anyone know why that is that I am having so much trouble trying to get pregnant? I didn't have any trouble at all when i got pregnant the 1st time! Thanks!!!

Fingers crossed over here.... Going to test on christmas morning.  It's been 11 days since I've ovulated.  I have had pregnancy symptoms like the other months but the past week I have been super tired.  My husband had to wake me up 3 nights in a row to shoo me to bed as I was asleep on the couch at 9 pm!  Very early for me.  Boobies hurt like hell, feel HUGE, have had some pelvic discomfort and lots of bloating and constipation.....
Could be wishful thinking, due for period on Dec 24, hopefully i can test on xmas and get my BFP!  Sprinkling pregnancy dust every where and to everyone trying!

I am going to make an appt with the doctors as soon as I can. I am just so discouraged! All I want is 1 more child and it just seems like I just can't get it! Another thing that discouraged me is that I got in contact with a High School friend and told her about everything and she said that her sister had her Mirena out last August and has been trying ever since and has tried everything and she can't get pregnant either! I just get so worried that something is wrong with me. I know that being on edge all of the time probably doesn't help either. I just don't know what to do anymore! I just feel so down about everything anymore!!!!

I had my IUD removed Sept. 23, 2011. Had my first AF Sept.26-Oct.2. It was like a normal af but lasted 7 days. That cycle was 49 days! Then I had AF from Nov.28-Dec.4. It was 7 days again, but there were 4 heavy days. And I mean, heavy. I have never experienced anything like it before, other than post partum bleeding. I also do not think I ovulated. I used 3 boxes(20pk each) of ovulation strips. I started them on cd10. It took over a week for a test line to even barely show up. When it started getting somewhat darker I took 2 a day. After they ran out I stopping using them because my cycle was ridiculously long. And I have heard conceiving then might be more of a risk for m/c. I was expecting my cycle to be long again this time around but I was wrong. I got AF yesterday. Which means my cycle was only 24 days?!  I started taking the ovulation strips on cd12. I had a test line from the first day I started them. It seemed to be getting darker. There were at least 2 that looked almost positive. I think it was about cd15. So hubby and I went ahead and BD. I was on what I thought was 10dpo when AF hit. I really do not know if I even ovulated. My yearly exam is towards the end of January. I went ahead and scheduled an appt for Jan 3. Just to be looked at for "problems". Can't get my exam early, insurance issue. Really I could of went in next week(because she said whenever I wanted, they were slow for holiday) but I figured I would still be on AF. I'm hoping I receive good news. Hopefully I am ovulating. I hate taking any kind of medicine.
A little on the plus side. Since I've had Mirena out, I have lost at least 5 lbs. LOL
Good luck everybody trying!

Well ladies, Ill be 34 weeks on Thursday and so far baby girl has decided to stay put. DF and I are not having intercourse as it is shown to bring on labour and we dont want that to happen, but try holding me back from 37 weeks, lol. Couldnt do anything just now anyway as I have thrush yet again. This pregnancy has brought on many episodes of that. :( Getting our growth scan on Friday at 8.30am, so will know approximately what weight she is and what they expect her to be at birth then. The pressure in my pelvic area is unbelieveable, can hardly walk, making sleeping much worse than before and just exhausted all the time, though somehow managing to function on 4/5hrs a night.
Definately nesting, drips of water or crumbs are even bugging me, gotta clean them up as soon as I see them. DF and DS know how to push my buttons for cleaning. Took down all the christmas decs today that way if Kaelyn decides to make an early arrival then were set to go. I must finish sorting my hospital bag, I keep chopping and changing my mind on what to take as need to have the right top for feeding, and stuff that wont crease in the bag, lol. Cant believe were almost there, its so exciting, but feels like its taking forever as well, lol.
Well thats the u[date. SSBD to ttc ladies and HH9M to the BFPs. x :)

Tell me about it! Another friend of mine just announced her pregnancy.  I am happy for them really, I am... I'm sure you're very frustrated and irritated.  I didn't eveh have to think about it with my other 2 and I was pregnant.  My husband and I try to make light of it though.  My best friend tried to get prego because I was trying.  Now she's pregnant and I'm not.  I had to giggle because she's whining about morning sickness and I got to have wine infused whipped cream on my coffee! Trying this hard has been very depressing and I prefer to be happy as I'm sure you do too.  We need a hobby to think about baby bliss less.  Too damn cold in Wisconsin for most things outside... Have sex every day or every other day around your ovulation period,  check your cervical mucus and monitor your temperature daily, buy ovulation predictor kits too.  Decrease/eleminate all coffee and alcohol and nicotine. Stay laying flat with a pillow under your hips for 20 minutes to "direct" the semen, be careful if you are using any lubrication as it can slow and even kill sperm.  Make sure you and your partner are taking your vitamins: For him a one a day for men + zinc + vitamin C, For you: a prenatal + folic acid + vitamin C. Have passionate sex with your partner and remember to laugh about things daily (studies showed that laughter therapy increases your changes of getting pregnant by 15%).
And keep trying and trying!  Some on here have been trying for years before they conceive, others a couple months but all are here for support.  good luck!

Hi Everyone,

I had mirena coil for 2 years straight - periods stopped for the whole time.
Had mirena removed June 2011, had a period July, pregnant by August 2011 - baby healthy, everything normal

Hello All. Thank you for your amazingly positive comments. I am getting my mirena removed on the 2nd Feb 2012. My husband and I want to conceive asap, so I'm hoping my situation will turn out to be the 'one month after removal' stories likes many of the women on here. The question I have doesn't really relate to the mirena, but more to using anti-epileptic drugs (Lamotrigine) during pregnancy. Has anyone on this forum had any sort of experience combining the mirena removal as well as trying to conceive on chronic meds? (There is no possible way for me to go off the drugs, it's way too dangerous with seizures, and if i miss one pill, I will have a seizure the following day). Please tell me if anyone has had the same worries and had come out with positive (or negative) results. I'd really appreciate the info. Thanks, Lisa

35+5 weeks now and dont know how much more of this pain I can take, Im sorry, Im grateful to be pregnant with our baby girl and I have loved her from the second I got my BFP, but I hate pregnancy. Men have such an easy life. I am in agony sitting, standing, lying, walking. I can only do all or any of these things for between 5 and 15 mins at a push. Paracetamol is doing nothing I dont think and when I saw consultant she is determined to leave me until 40weeks. It sounds silly, but 4 weeks is so long. I have the midwife this Thursday where I am gonna see what she says and then another growth scan and the consultant a week today where I am going to push him, even if it is gonna be induced at 40 weeks if I dont go myself so I can see the finish line and concentrate on that. Right now Im simply aiming to get to appointment on Thursday and Tuesday and my 30th next Thursday, then from there with 21 days to go, who knows.

HH9M to the pregnant ladies and ssbd to all the ladies ttc xx :)

Hi! I'm new to the group. Had my mirena removed yesterday, 1/91/12. And our next step is to wait a few cycles then ttc. I'm excited! Best wishes to you all :)

Well I have had my IUD for 4 years, a Gyno suggested it when i was having issues with oral BC. However the last year or so I have had several issues such as cyst irregular Pds etc. I planning to have my IUD removed the bf and I are discussing childern but we mostly agree that its best to have it removed because of all of the issues it is causing my body. Im just wondering what what to expect when I have it removed.

Thanks

New to this group! Just had  my iud removed after 2 1/2 yrs today and I hope to conceive as soon as I have my first cycle. My daughter will be 3 in April and I would love to deliver another baby before the end of 2012. I'm super excited and nervous all at the same time! Glad I found this site because I have learned so much from you all. I will definitely return to read stories and also update on my situation.

Once you have your mirena removed, one of the most common symptoms you will have is thinking your pregnant every month. You will have pregnancy symptoms and not be pregnant. Some women have had there af return as normal, however some women have been weeks or months. It is hard not to jump in the sack right away and try get pregnant, but the mirena thins the lining of the womb so its good to wait a couple of cycls as unless your really lucky, if you did get pregnant the lining wouldnt be thick enough for egg to implant and end in m/c. When you are going to try sex is best every second or third day, even around Ovulation as the sperm needs a chance to build back up. If you havent had intercourse in a while either though you should get some fresh in there as days old sperm can be sluggish.
On my removal I had some spotting for 3 days then af came back when due 2 weeks later. I have a son who is 10 years old and had no problem conceiving him, however this time it took me 2 years and 2 m/c's to get my BFP. Currently 35+6weeks. Good luck, hope its a quick one and stick with this forum, the ladies are great. SSBD to you. x :)

Hey you!! How are you doing? Its almost baby time for you! It has gone quite fast. So, I am still all out of whack. I had my first af Dec 5th and that cycle was as normal as could be. Started ttc and did the whole tww wait and boy did I give that up. I am on cd 39 and nothing (still a crap load of symptoms...but I have gotten to ignore them). Lol!!! I ordered some OPK's and should be here early early next week. I also started temping just to see if I can notice anything. My cycles used to be like clockwork, every 28 days and it looks like they have gotten a little bit longer and just have to try and get used to it. My doc just said keep giv'n er and have fun. :D Best advice he could have probably given me.

All this is very encouraging. Thanks for all the great info. I am set to get my Mirena out on Tues Jan 17 and we are hoping ttc asap! Looks like based on all these stories that it all depends on your body and that everyone is different. I have one little boy - he's 2.5 yrs old. I've had my Mirena since 9/2009 and haven't had any problems. I am hoping and praying that I can conceive quickly! Thanks for the info, ladies blessings to you all!

Hey everyone. I'm new to this group.  I had the mirena removed Nov 29,2011.  2 days later I had my period(which i was due for) on Dec 1,2011.  I have heard that it can mess up your periods but it is now 1/13/2012 and i haven't had a period since Dec 1. My husband and I are ttc.  We have sex every other day and he goes in me everytime.  When i had the mirena i had periods they just werent as heavy but i could use light tampons. well the 2 days after i gotten it taken out (which my period lasted for 7 days my period) was like a normal period i would have without birth control. well i havent had a period since and then have taken pregnancy test..but they have came up negative..i have used the ones from the dollar store and walmart..i heard the blue dye tests arent good ones to use because they can give u a false positive or a false negative and the evap..so i tried digital well still neg and i heard they arent very accurate either but i did hear the the pink dye are the best to get...so im going to get one with the pink dye and try again...i do have a few of the pregnancy symptoms..headaches off and on, bloated, lower back pain..but im a little confused could i be pregnant and not show a postive result yet?? i know with one of my pregnancies i went into the hospital because my potassium was low i thought going from my last period i was 8 weeks but come to find out i was only 5 weeks pregnant..i know with my last 2 pregnancies i didnt find out i was prego till like 8 weeks after missing  period...so i dunno if i should retest or wait it out..please any advice will help me thanks...

Give it some time. The hormones from the mirena have probably thrown your cycles out of whack. A lot of women have removal bleeding within a few days of having the mirena removed. Removal bleeding may seem like a period, but it isn't. When I had my mirena removed I bled for a few days after (like a period) but it was just removal bleeding. My real period didn't show up until 48 days later which drove me crazy! I thought I was pregnant or that something was wrong, but it just took some time for my body to get back to normal. After having that first 48 day cycle, once I got my period my cycles went back to 28-31 days (which is normal for me). Some women have cycles that return to normal immediately and some women take a few months for their cycles to go back to normal. Just try to be patient! I got pregnant the third cycle after having my mirena removed and had an early miscarriage. Three months later I got pregnant again and now I'm 34 weeks :)

JoJo and baby2929, time is almost here!  very exciting! I'm on a year and a half on trying, never had any luck with OPK's, so stopped wasting money. Haven't tested in a while because haven't had the feeling in a while it was worth my time or anxiety. I am going to test this friday because I have a little more feeling that it's possible this month.  maybe! x'ng my fingers.

Oh and since there are a lot of new girls, just to catch up on my situation, Mirena totally screwed up my cycle. I think I barely started being regular the last 5-6 months. My son is in kindergarten and I would love to give him a little brother or sister soon. Hoping this is my year!  Good luck to everyone too!

Hey! Sounds like we are in the same boat. I haven't been trying for as long but I have only had one period since October. Yes...frustrating!!! I have finally started temping and ordered some OPK's online to see if I am just ovulating late. My doctor said it is possible to get pregnant without having a period. So he gave me some hope there. My first two pregnancies happened within a blink of an eye and since this darn Mirena, it has made this whole process so difficult. Hopefully something will happen soon. Stress and anxiety are definitely starting to kick in. People say relax and don't think about it....but it is far too difficult!!! I used to be 28 days exactly every month to whatever this is now. I went 46 days after Mirena removal to get my first af and still waiting for my next cycle to start.

I recently got married in September so my new hubby and i would like to try to have a baby. I go for my IUD removal on Monday. What should i expect the day of? You will feel a slight scratch when mirena is removed and wear a pad or panty liner as you will probably have some light spotting after removal. Then from there its a case of waiting on af appearing. Personally I would wait a cycle or two before trying as mirena thins the lining of the womb so if an egg got fertilized, it may end in m/c as the lining not thick enough for egg to stay implanted. Some women have gotten pregnant within a few months, some are still trying 3+ years later. I already have a son and it took me 2 years and 2 m/c to get pregnant. Ill be 37 weeks tomorrow. So due anyday really.
Good luck on your journey, hope its a quick one and ssbd x :)

Well, for those who dont see my journal, I had another growth scan yesterday and saw the consultant. Baby is weighing in at approx 6lbs now, the consultant managed to get me an emergency appointment with physio for this morning at 11.15am. Ill get crutches or something to help take the pressure off my pelvis when im walking around until Kaelyn arrives. I have also to attend my normal midwife appointment tomorrow afternoon and back to consultant on Tuesday for a sweep and a date for to get started. I sure hope its not to long as I cant take much more of this no sleep and pain when Im even trying to walk. Id like to be able to visit the bathroom which is about 10 steps from the sitting room without the waddle that has gotten a little extreme. I look like ive just come off a horse.

Well, thats my update for now, be back at some point soon to update again after my next consultant appointment unless baby girl decides to make her appearance herself before hand. Its my 30th birthday tomorrow, the birth of baby girl would be an awsome birthday present. :)

HH9M to the pregnant ladies and ssbd to those still or starting ttc. xx :)

It is frustrating, isnt it??!  I got pregnant literally after one BD with both of my boys, yet with this baby it took me 11 mos of actively trying with OPK's and preseed.

Isabel, have you tried the digital OPKs? They're sooo much easier. That's what i used, and i had 0 confusion.

MrsMontoya-  To me it just felt like a mentural cramp as it was coming out, and then a little more cramping after that, I dont think i bled until like 2 days later.  The first couple periods were VERY heavy, with lots of clots.  How long did you have it in for?? i had it in for 6.5 years.

Curiousmayo- That is a long time of trying.  Have you spoken to your Dr?  That's what i would do.

As for my update:
first of all 18 days til my due date!!
I had my 37 week appt yesterday, my belly measured at 38cm.  The baby is perfect and probably around 6 1/2 lbs.  I am now 2cm dilated and still 30 % effaced.  She hasnt dropped anymore either, but she's still low.  Best news my dr says she'll strip my membranes at my next appt. if i havent had her by then!!  im so happy!  Even though i was stripped with my 1st pregnancy and it did nothing, i just have a feeling it will put me in labor.  After all i had my last baby at 37 weeks all on my own

Well oh my goodness!!! It looks like I am running on a 46 day cycle!!! Pre-Mirena I was 28 days, but I just started spotting earlier this evening and this is my 45th day. I didn't have my first af after Mirena until 46 days later. This is crazy!!! Time to break out the OPK's. Lol! This is my 2nd af since October. Well the only thing good about this is that it is regular....sheeesh. Lol! SSBD :D

Sounds like you are in the same boat i was!  but my first cycle was like 90 flipping days after removal. I finally got some medicine from the doctor to kick start AF. So if next month it's still another 45 days then you might want to ask about it.  I took it for a few months, but then started getting a little more regular and stopped.  it's still not as regular and to the day as i was before, but at least its a lot better.
Jojo- I will have to try that now that I am a lot more familiar with my body and what it may be doing.  I did try the interenet ones and I never got a positive, but then maybe I was still a little too sporatic.
I did have some light pink spotting yesterday and I'm a few days away from when i should be starting.....kinda wondering if it could be implantation bleeding...MAYBE!

WOW!!!  I am starting to get scared after reading all this!  I am 30 years old and I have 3 kids from my previous marriage.  I am now remarried and hoping to start trying this spring/summer!  I have in my 2nd IUD for a total of a little over 6 years....now I am thinking I should go ahead and have it taken out now!?!?!?!?!  Any suggestions???
Blank
1115543_tn?1328806510
In my personal opinion if your not ready to start trying just yet, but know your gonna in the next few months or so would be to get your IUD removed NOW and go on the pill. Reason I suggest the pill is as you have read a lot of women have problems with there cycles after removal so this will help regulate your cycle and get your womb prepaared for pregnancy. The IUD thins the lining of the womb and this is how it prevents you from getting pregnant as the egg cant then implant. If you go in the pill, it will let the lining of your womb thicken back up and hopefully put you on the road to regular cycles before you ttc.
I hope this makes sense and helps and I wish you the best of luck on your journey. It took me 2 years and 2 m/cs to get pregnant this time. Im now full term and i already have a son too. Good luck and SSBD to you x :)

I've been off the IUD since August 25, 2010 and I've a regular period since June 2011 but I still can't conceive. I tried in October, but still no luck. My boyfriend and I thought maybe 2012 will be our year, so on the first of January we had sex because that was one of my fertile days. My period was supposed to come the 19th of this month and it hasn't yet. So We hope this is it, & we're about to receive another gift from God! Wish me luck !!!

Here is my situation to all who is new on here. (I'm still fairly new myself). I had my Mirena for over two years. Had it removed in mid/late October 2011. Got my first af December 5th (46 days after) and was a normal cycle and my 2nd af started today (this was a 48 day cycle).

So we will see how it goes. I also bought OPK's to try and help. Good luck to all of you....ssbd!!! :D

anthon28:

My situation is so similar to yours. I'm new here, but  I've been reading all these posts for a while looking for some answers, and yours stands out the most for me. I had my mirena removed September 2nd, 2011 after having it for a little over 2 years. Two days after removal, I spotted for 3 days, then 39 days after my removal date,  I experienced a pretty regular period. Hubby and I thought we'd try things natural for a few months (meaning no OPK's or anything). The next cycle lasted 42 days. I tested when I was one day late because of sore breasts, but af showed up 3 days later :(. I have yet to get another cycle and its been 62 days. I've only had 2 cycles since Septmeber and i'm ready to just scream!! I've taken 5 pregnancy tests and all have been negative. I've bought opk's for this next cycle, but I have no idea when its going to come...this is just ridiculous. I have no symptoms of pregnancy or of AF about to come, but yet, my period is MIA (missing in action) and all pregnancy tests have been negative so I am lost. I know its only been coming up on 5 months since my removal date, so maybe I sound a little silly. But I just cannot help it. I didn't expect to get pregnant right away and I was in a position to except that, but this is just a little to much. I haven't been to see my doctor yet because I know that she's going to say to just "give it time", but i'm running on little hope right now and friends and family just don't get it. I'm only 26 and have a 3 year old.

Tonight I overheard my husband telling his mom (my MIL) that I was stressing a little over this whole issue and then i'm guessing she told him that I should just "relax and not worry about it" and it kind of made me mad. I haven't really worried about it til' now. I was trying to keep my head up, but these long cycles are discouraging. How can you not think about it? Sorry to rant. I'm a little down tonight. Best of luck to everyone TTC and congrats to everyone with a BFP!!!

540971_tn?1327372353
We do sound very similar. I have started to become a little more relaxed. It is hard though. It's always in the back of your mind. It is really hard to switch off.  I work in a hospital and I see babies all the time, so it makes it a little worse. I kind of have a good feeling that this month it's going to happen or I should say early next month . I am on day two of my 2nd cycle. I have my opk's ready to go in a bit. I have never had to use them before, so I am kind of excited. Lol! .....and thats okay about ranting. Thats what all of us ladies are here for. :) Rant away! I am only ranting on here and to my husband. None of my family or friends know what is going on right now. They do not need to know until I get my BPF. Good luck to you as well.

No one in our families know that were trying either...really trying anyway. They know I had mirena removed, but they don't know that I'm at a point of charting, using opk's, etc...I don't want them to know because none of them understand. That might sound rude or harsh, but its true. I've got my opk's in hand too...ready to go lol. I'm at a stand still though because of this darn cycle. I've orderedcevening primrose and agnus catus to help with this crazy cycle..I'm young and given the mirena removal my doctor won't even look my way right now. I'm not even suggesting there is a problem but after almost 5 months of only 2 periods...its getting really old. I hope this month or should I say February is your month....maybe mine too if af would get a move on
. We conceived our daughter in February of 08...so maybe I'll get lucky ha ha.   That would mean 2 babies born in the same month...November
..right before Xmas...but, you know what, I'll take it. Good luck and lots of baby dust to you.

I have not been to the forum in a couple of months. Things have been going very slowly. No AF for the whole month of december, had my IUD taken out in november. I thought that for sure I was pregnant but no such luck... AF came jan 1st and we have been trying since then. Ovulation was to happen on the 15th so I guess now we play the waiting game. Since then I have taken 2 test but they both were negative. I have noticed that in this last week my breasts have been very achy and tender but I dont know if its because of AF due on the 29th. What do you ladies think?

I went through a similar experience. Had my iud out on september 2nd and didn't get my first period until October 11th. I had terrible breast pain, headaches, and nausea. None of which are common for me before my periods pre-mirena. Thought I was pregnant for sure but I wasn't. I didn't get another period until November 22nd and before it I experienced pregnancy symptoms too. Now 64 days later and still no period, but no symptoms whatsoever of an af on its way or pregnancy. Ive tested and each test has been, (-). I really hate just sitting around waiting on af.
Blank
1366197_tn?1328734754
it's hard to say for sure because sometimes mirena can mess your cycles up for a couple months.  I'd say if AF doesn't show but the 30th then take another test.  My cycles before mirena were exactly 30 days, and after mirena they were 32-34 days and i always ovulated on the 17th day of my cycle, EXCEPT the month i got pregnant, i didn't ovulate until the 21st day of my cycle.

Kristian790- Mirena can do strange things to a woman's body!  I was TTC for 11 months before i got pregnant, i also didnt tell my family about the OPK's and stuff because they just wouldnt understand.  Good luck, and i hope you get your BFP really soon!

Update on my-- 12 days til my due date! Im 38 weeks and im getting my membranes stripped today.  Im so uncomfortable and tired of being pregnant.  I pray the sweep puts me into labor tonight!  oh and at my 6 week appt after the baby i will be getting the mirena again.

Thanks so much and good luck and congrats with your pregnacy..or should I say baby seeing as how it won't be long. I had my membranes partly sweeped I guess you could say with my daughter lol....I was 1 day over and in terrible pain and couldn't stand for my doctor to finish doing it, but labor started 2 days later anyway. I doubt that I'll go with mirena again when the time comes. I personally didn't really have problems with it, it just wasn't for me. It took us 7 months to conceive our daughter after being on the pill. However, we weren't really trying or preventing at the time and our schedules were nuts which made it hard to baby dance lol. I guess it will happen when it happens..but in the meantime, I've got to get this cycle under control lol.

So, I forgot to mention I had my IUD for 3 years. I briefly had one in-between our Daughter and Son, for about 2 months, and then had it removed and was pregnant in two weeks. We actually totally forgot the IUD was out, and one time did it. I hope this round is as easy, but have a felling it wont be. I had a regular period following the removal 3 weeks ago, day 3-6 after my removal, and was told it was infact a period. I should have been ovulating this past week, but have not been to crazy about keeping track. I hope it happens for us, and everyone else trying. Does anyone have stories on getting pregnant right away, after having an IUD twice?

My doctor said that its  different for everyone, but a healthy couple can take Between 6 months to a year to conceive. Just keep trying. I've had mine out since September and haven't gotten a bfp yet either. I didn't expect to get pregnant overnight or right away and now that the mirena is out and ive got more of a sex drive back, I'm enjoyin trying, but my long cycles are what is driving me crazy. Hope you get your bfp soon and best of luck to you.

Hi to everyone, this is the first time I have seen this site and just wanted to say how nice it was to read.  Some sites have so much bad news, it is nice to read stories with hope and support. Had my mirena out early Nov and found out after that i was rubella non-immune on 11/11/2011, so had the innoculation the same day. Was sad as we wanted to try asap.  Was advised to wait 3 months, but got impatient and did some research, most sites recommended 1 month, so after 10 weeks we decided to start.  Only been a few days, but it is my ovulating week.  Holding thumbs, 5 of my friends are pg and all due June to Sep.  Really want a Nov/Dec baby. Have been irregular for 7 years and had tried many pills and mirena with little help, so hoping that will not affect my ttc. Have had scans along the way and no real evidence of problems besides some irregular cells I had lasered off my cervix.  Will keep you posted.

My personal experience, I had IUD for 7 months only and took 2 years and 2 m/cs to conceive. I am now 38 weeks and getting started on Tuesday. I have a 10 year old son already who I got pregnant with by sneezing so to speak, lol. This time was really long and really difficult.

I hope all of your journeys are much quicker, sending SSBD to you all :)

Hi there, I had my mirena for 3 years.  At some points I had to use the pill as well to try regulate.  All the best! This will be my first, I'm 28 this year and all of a sudden decided I wanted a baby (very impatient now :).

Well ladies, the sweep kinda worked Im thinking. The doctor says I am in the early stages of labour but could be like that for days, so I have stopped the excesive walking, birthing ball and other myths and just gonna hold off until induction on Tuesday. Its only 87 hours and 20mins away until I will be in hospital and getting all prepared. I bet I dont sleep a wink on Monday night, though really need to try as labour can be a long process.

On fb yesterday it said my local Pram Centre was giving away all there sale items due to fact they are doing a refurb and need the space. You know what fb can be like so I went along to see anyway at 10am this morning. There were over 200 ppl there so DF told me to wait outside as was getting pushed about in the madness. He came out with over £200 worth of items for baby all branded names and brand new for baby girl, including sun canopy, vibrating bouncy chair, bedding ect. All for the cost of a donation to a premature bab charity. Fab, you never get anything for nothing anymore, so feel so blessed to have gotten so much things for FREE. Then tonight got the chance of a second stage maxi cosy carseat for only £20, they cost £169 new, so off to collect that shortly.

Ill be sure to let you know how things go on Tuesday.

Good luck to all the pregnant women, HH9M and SSBD to all the ladies ttc x

AAaah I got my BFP!!!!!! Today!!! I had gone to the doctor to get a test done because I have been feeling strange and they told me it was negative. So I waited about five days to re-test and it was POSITIVE!! Im going back tomorrow to see what they say. My question is should I re-test before going to the doctor?

CONGRATS!!!!  HH9M!!

Congrats to Baby2929 on the precious baby girl born today!!

Update on me:
Im really starting to get desperate to have this baby girl. Im so tired of the pain and discomfort that being this pregnant has caused, but mostly i just want to meet her.  I think about little things like i want to play with her tiny feet and lay her little naked body on my bare chest. Im going insane WAITING everyday just WAITING.  Im so blessed to be pregnant, but it must come to an end soon. I tried to get pregnant for nearly 1 year, and now ive been pregnant just shy of 10 months.  I NEED MY BABY!!
I had my 39 week check up on yesterday and i was 3cm, 50-60% effaced.  She stripped my membranes for that 2nd time and throughout the night last night i had cramping and brown bloody mucous, now today nothing. Im losing hope that she'll even be here before her due date in 4 days.  Im really trying to just enjoy these last few days of being pregnant but even that's becoming impossible.  Please let me meet you little one!

For everyone else SSSSBD to all!!

Pls advise.  I know they say that for 6 weeks not much you take should influence if you are pg.  I have been trying, so the chance is there, but I'm battling with flu at the moment.  Do you think safer to avoid taking anything or better to get healthy asap?

Wow,  2 more weeks and I would be considered full term. I had my last 2 week appointment last week. Everything was good except my BP was a bit high at 148/80. I am starting to go every week on tuesdays untill Hailey is born. I finished putting together her bassinet yesterday and put her clothes away in her dresser. My baby shower is this weekend. So excited!

What is BFD and AF?  I still have my Mirena in and am coming up on the 5 year mark. Im ready to take out and hoping that within a year or so i get pregant. Just doing somne research. The thing is that before i got it i NEVER had my period. I have had one child which was bizzare because I hadnt had my period in 6 months before I got pregnant. But when I met my husband we didnt want to get pregnant right away so we opted for this. Any info would help

Hello, I was just looking around the internet for more information on helping my Husband and I with tips on how to conceive and came across this discussion board with lots of helpful insight. I am going to be 30 this year and I have a 7 1/2 year old son. I had the Mirena IUD put in after I had my son, and then had it removed and replaced at 5 years. I then had my second Mirena IUD removed in January of 2011. I began having a period about a month after removal. We conceived and miscarried in July of 2011, and have been trying everything from tracking my ovulation to crazy positions and everything in between with no luck ever since. My cycles have began getting further and further apart and the first day of my last cycle was now 41 days ago, but I have been testing negative for a pregnancy. I have a Dr. appt. on 2/22 and am hoping he will provide some insight on what in the heck is happening with my body! We want to have another baby so badly!!!

Ok i am officially throwing in the towel....It has been almost 2 years since my Mirena removal and my cycle has been messed up ever since. I am on day 49 of my cycle this month. I spotted a few weeks ago and thought that could be implantation bleeding, but it was not. wasted money on countless pregnancy tests and OPK's i bought and were all negative in the past 2 years.  I'm tired of the anxiety and the medication to attempt to regulate me, it's just not worth it anymore. I have never been a negative person, but I'm done. Happy to have seen several stories of girls that did get pregnant and have their babies and have had no problems after Mirena removal. I was not so lucky and sad that it will probably never happen. I will be 38 this year and I'm just tired of the wasted energy and stress.
Good luck to everyone, SSBD

Hi all. Had Marina removed 2 days ago, no period as yet but my breast are so tender.  I have had the Marina for nearly 6 years and have 2 girls 8 and 6.  Had marina cos of heavy periods plus fell pregnant with both my girls whilst on the pill so seemed like the best option!!  I read all the stories and now i am worried that having the coil for so long may lower my chances? I didnt have periods whilst on the coil literally brown spotting once in a blue moon in the 6 years i had it.  I have been told i am very fertile but now am worried the marina may effect this?  also worrying about when my periods may return as have no feeling of stomach cramps or anything.  Any info anyone please :-)

Hello all,

I'm new here, I have a 12 year old daughter from a previous relationship and have been with my current partner for four years, We decided we would like to try for a baby so had my mirena out on 04/02/11. I had the mirena in four 4 1/2 years and previously had a copper coil in. I had light spooting on the date of removal and further light spotting on 06/02/11. We started BD on on 06/02/11. We are hoping to get pg quickly, so fingers crossed :)
