How to lighten a period

I am 33 yrs old.  I had my tubes tied two years ago after I had my 3rd C-Section.  My period is very heavy now.  It is fairly regular and doesn't last too long (about a week), but for that week I can barely go anywhere because of the heavy bleeding.  I was wondering if there is something I can do.  I don't really want to take a birth control pill again.  I would rather take care of it naturally.  I would appreciate any advice.  Thanks.

I found that taking Acetominophen lightened my periods tremendously.  I wouldn't recommend taking a lot of it though because there's side effects of course.  Acetominophen is found in Midol and other Pre-menstrual tablets.  Ibuprofen has the opposite effect and I've read that it can make it heavier.

I don't know if you have any other options except for bc. My sister had her tubes tied and had issues with a heavy period. She didn't want to take bc either so she just deals with it, unfortunatley.
