oh yea wat other tests can i do to makes sure i dont have hpv. and if i have low risk hpv is it dangerous i mean is low risk hpv serious and do u need to tell ur partner that u have hpv??
The only hpv I am aware of is for high risk HPV, which can be serious but I'll talk about that in a minute.
The low-risk hpv causes warts and these are never dangerous and they never turn in to cancer. They are just annoying.
High risk hpv does not cause warts however they can cause changed within a womanWomen's way's cervix. Usually a womanWomen's way will find out that she had high risk hpv because her papPap smear Pap smears and cervical cancer came back showing dysplasia. When that happens, there are several things they will do. Most lightly you will get a colposcopy to look at the lining under a microscope. If there is something to biopsy, they will send it off to the lab. Once they get that back, they can decide the best way to take care of it. It's not as bad as it sounds.
Remember approx 1 in 4 womanWomen's way have an active case at any given time. About 80% to 90% will get hpv in thier lifetime as long as they are sexually active. Please check out the cdc website for better information. I strongly advice this site.
As for telling a new partner, yes you should discuss it with them. I know its hard but it's the right thing to do. She will probably want you to use a condom which is also a very good thing to do.

I wouldn't worry though because this is a pretty benign virus as long as it's kept in check (WOMEN you have to keep getting your paps regularly). Also, no smoking, that really affects the vagina and bladder.
I hope this helps. Good luck to you!
