I am 17 and I have a question to a gynaecologist ......I badly need help !

I am 17 years old  ( I am not married and I don't have any partner )  and the question is to a gynaecologist .For past 2 months I am having itching and burning  in the vagina and around it ..... The itching and burning sometimes happen together and sometimes at different times . It does not happens all time but in different times of the day , recurring time to time . Ans since past 2 months I haven't missed the itch and burn for even one day but this thing doesnot occur for 4 to 5 days during my period,  after the period is over than the public area start to itch and burn. . I consulted a doctor but she says everything is fine, may be it coukd be the pad rash and gave me some cream and shampoo to wash there. when I diagnosed it myself I also found nothing in the vagina but my mons pubis was a bit of strange. Looking at it carefully I think it has some dandruff kind of thing but I can't say it exactly whether its dandruff or what , to look at it when I cut some hair down there, some dandruff like thing fall down, but it is not of huge amount ,its very less. I can't understand what should I do . I want to be ok ...And also I have a question regarding the cream or shamppo that the doc told me to use , should I use them or not ? Actually when I visited her I didn't know about the dandruff kind of thing so I didn't tell her . I badly need help ,I just can't understand what should I do!
