I have a bald spot on the left side of my head!

I am 24 years old and found a 50cent piece sizw bald spot in my hair. My husband is of course freaking cause he knows how thick my hair is and it is right in the line of view meaning it HAS NOT been there for too long. I dont know what to think. ANY HELP would be greatly appreciated.
