I have a huge mons pubis?!

I started noticing that I have a fat/huge mon's pubis when I was 12. I saw other girls in bikinis and swim suits and they looked "flat" down there. I'm 13 now and I seriously look like I have balls when I wear anything even slightly tight. I've only been commented about it once by my friend. She was like "Uhhh are you sure you have a vagina?" while she was looking down there. My mom has it (not quite as bad as mine), and my half sister (same dad) doesn't have it. So I must have got it from my mom. When I have my legs together there's probably like an inch of fat when I push down, that leads to my pelvic bone. I guess you could say my pelvic bone potrudes a little, but it doesn't stick up very severely.. It's just kinda bumps out slightly. It's about the size of a large fist down there... gross right? Well I weigh 170-ish (but I had it even when I weighed 160) and I'm like 5'5. I see other girls my weight and they don't have it. I didn't have much luck researching about it and it's emberassing just posting this. It's ruining my life and it needs to go. I don't remember very clearly but I think I had it even before, as a little kid when I was skinny (3-7 y/o).  I want to get surgery but I'm emberassed to talk to my mom about it... and I think I'm too young. If I lose weight will it go away? Please help me. =(

Yes it will go away! With proper diet and excersize it will go away, I struggle with it too and I want it gone as much as you do too. It ruins a lot of things for me. But don’t worry you will get there slowly but surely!

I used to think that I had a large pubic bone and could not wear any type of pants without having a shirt long enough to cover it. But one day, I was reading this article about the posterior pelvic tilt and exercises on how to correct it. I thought, why not give it a try? It's free and I don't have to go under the knife, so I really had nothing to lose. After 10 days, I could see a noticeable difference! It seemed like my pelvic is shifting inwards, so the bulge is not as noticeable anymore. For the first time in my life, I was able to wear slacks with my shirt TUCKED IN! It was such a great feeling! Don't get me wrong, there still is a slight bulge there, but I hope a few weeks more of these exercises will make it normal again. I can't wait to see the results!

It's called a mons pubis.  I have one too - it doesn't really diminish with weight loss.  Don't despair though, I've been told a lot of men find it very sexy.  There's a whole subreddit devoted to it.

Hey, I'm 12 and I've had the same thing you're talking about for as long as I can remember. I know how you feel. It's a terrible thing to have to deal with. I can't go anywhere without worrying about it. I'm ashamed to go to pools and to even wear certain jeans because it sticks out so much. I'm only 110-115 and I'm about 5''4. But even when I loose weight it stays the same size. My sister makes fun of me because of it too. It has really lowered my self esteem and It's controlling my life. Sometimes I can't even enjoy going out with my boyfriend because I'm afraid he might look down at my jeans, see it, and think I have a ****. None of my friends know about it because I refuse to even go swimming around them. I'm too afraid of what they might say about it. Sometimes at sleepovers they'll just change clothes right in front of each other but i'll have to run to a closet/bathroom to change. I'm so glad there is another person like me. Thank you so much for posting this and update me if you find any more info. :D

yeah you will prob loose some of that if you loose weight. As I put on weight I gained in that same area too. now that I am loosing some of it again the "plumpness" is going away too.
