Hi I'm 27 years old and I haven't had my period in over a year either. Things an get better. I had NO direction and ecided to chane my life for the better. You have to decide that you want to be happy!!! NO ONE! and NOTHING! Can do it for you. There is NO magic happiness out there waiting for you. If thee is simething you want to do or someone you want to be it is possible! You just have to work hard to get there and don't let anyone tell you it can't be done! Also DON'T put your self down!!!!! Give yourself a chance! Your period will come back and even if it doesn't, only going to the doctor can tell you what the problem is. Stop being scared of life and just do it!!!! They can't lock you up because you have a large doctor bill!!!! Do what you have to do to be healthy and servive!

How about going to the dr.  I had this same problem, not getting my period for months at a time while I was 18-20.  I weighed 115, was very athletic, but ended up being diagnosed with a thyroid disease...hypothyroidism.  It took several months for the doctors to determine exactly what was causing me to not menstruate.  I have since been taking .1mcg of levoxythyrine every day.  The thyroid basically controls all of your body functions including metabolism.

Alright so here is my issue... I kinda want help and I can't go to a doctor as of now, any help would be great! I'm 18 years old. I had my first period when I was 12.. It has ALWAYS a been irregular, I would have a period for just five days.. SEVERE cramps and nausea. But I recently have been living in my own with my fiancé and we are honestly ready for a kid. Financially and mentally. But seven months of trying and nothing has happened. I haven't h a period since we have been together for going on three years. Is there something wrong with me?? I'm kind of worried.

I've just turned 19, and I haven't had regular periods since I got the H1N1 shot when I was 17. Don't know if the vaccine did something to me, but I find it odd.
I got my first period when I was 13, and my periods were never fully regular. They were consistant in how heavy they were, but I couldn't get a set date. I'd usually just get a "feeling" the night before, but not always. Sometimes I'd get them a month later, sometimes I'd skip a couple. I'd usually get bad cramps on the fourth day, usually when it wasn't heavy anymore.
I'm not underweight (actually, I'm a little overweight), I haven't been stressed, I'm a virgin, and I have no idea what's going on and I'm going to go crazy. I've been researching like mad, and I don't fit anything. I really want to have children one day, and I hope I will still be able to. I can't afford a gyno right now, and the closet one is a little over an hour drive away, and I have no car or liscence.
I used to wish I didn't have a period, but it took losing it for me to realize how beautiful it actually is. Careful what you wish for, I guess.

Six month after this started, I had a very, very light period - if you can even call it that. There was hardly any blood - I didn't even need a pad. It lasted maybe a week. Then, after 3 months of more nothing, the same thing happened. The month after, it lasted 2 weeks and I needed panty liner because it occasionally "dropped" a little more. It happened again two or three more times, though I  could not predict it - two, three months apart, who could guess? I haven't had one of these hapennings since february, however I'm currently feeling mini cramps, like I did the other times the others.

I'm about to go nuts, this is really bothering me and robbing me of my peace of mind. One thing I decided with this experience was that it might be a blessing. Since this has been happening to me, I've decided that I one day want to take in orphan/foster kids. If I will one day be perfectly fertile/normal, I'd love to become a serogate for an infertile or gay couple.

Omg me too! I'm 19 and I haven't had my period in about 2 years. Ive always been very irregular. When i was 15,16 and 17, I would get it 3 months in a row and then it would disappear for about 7 months and come back for 3 months in a row again and disappear for another 7 months. But that stopped and now i don't get it at all. I like that I don't have to worry about tampons and pads and leakings, but I'm worried that something might be wrong. I don't have insurance anymore and I cant afford to pay for a doctor. I'm don't feel too stressed, i mean not anymore than anyone else. I don't work or have many responsibilities. Do have a few social ex-bf issues, but not too bad. I don't think its stress and I have an average weight. So..WTF is wrong with me?!?!?!

hi
Im 21 I got my period when I was 13 and my periods were always so regular I would get them every 3rd of the month. After 3 years it started to change like it started coming late alot. I started hanging out with the wrong people doing things that I knew could effect my body yet was to naive to think it could happen to me. My peiods started becoming more and more late and since me and my boyfriend were sexually active I used to always asume I was pregnant and go take the after pill. (bad idea) At the agte of 19 I started getting these headahces worst then any migraine ever, and my eyes were in so much pain like knives were constantly beinhg stabed in them, the nerves in my eyes were so swollen I started gaining ALOT of weight I used to always be very petite and now im like so far from it.. The weight gain is still continuing. I stoped getting my period at 19 when I started getting very ill. I am so tired I literally cant work because of how tired I am I can drink all the energy drinks and coffee and still be so tired. Im always sick and the headaches and eye pain is there everyday. When I was first getting sick I always developed a ringing in my ear and sometimes it sounds like heavy winds in my ear which i still have.  Its been almost 2 years and in the whole 2 years Ive got 2 very light periods that lasted 3 days and were weird in color. I went to the doctor he said my hormes were fine. he said I had cysts on my ovaries which in order to tell if its ovarian cancer you need more then a ultasound done which he didnt do for mee. Every doctor i go to mis diagnoses me and doesnt help so I gave up After seeing so many specialists and doctros and being admitted in the hospital all the time. I just gave up. Ive lived in the hospital more then my own home in the last 2 years.  I also am always hot and sweating even in the middle of winter. Like somebody help me please. this is to much for me to handle. The pain and all the symptoms are here everyday. and me and my boyfriend for 5 years were drifting apart my contstant sickneess is effecting him to. I cant leave the house ever cause of the pain and fatigue. I want my period back.

I am 20 years old. I started having my period when I was 10. I stopped having a regular one when i was 16. I now havnt had one in nearly 2 years. My boyfriend of 2 years says It might be good because I havnt gotten pregnant. Im not skinny, in fact im about 40lbs over weight. and very tall. The doctor says its just stress. the only time i have a period is when i was on birth control. now i see no reason to use birth control. hosnestly i like not having a period. im just scared it will hurt me in some way to where i will be unable to have kids in the future. can someone maybe give me a suggestion of what could be wrong with me.

Hi, I am 27 and I haven't had my periods for a year now. I did loose a few kilo's and did exercise for an hr every day. I carried out all the tests and everything was fine. The doc advised me to gain some weight and surely I would get my periods then. I have seen some changes to my body where I have gained a bit of weight. As I work and have a busy schedule, I manage to walk at a slower pace now, to relief the work stress. I am still waiting to get my periods. Hopefully they turn up soon!

Also, if your body fat gets below a certain percent of your body weight, you won't have your periods.  This is not a desirable thing, since it is very bad for your bones.  You don't want to be one of those bent-over women in later life!  Please try to keep your weight up to a normal amount, despite all the stress, so your body can take care of itself.  All the best, honey (((HUGS))) Annie
