I know I'm not pregnant but I'm spotting again!

Ok so last month I had spotting 3 days after my period ended.  I have a copper IUD in place.  After that spotting my period came one week late.  Ok so thi month I got my period (late as it was) and lasted the normal 5 days...3 days out I'm spotting again and its not dark blood, its bright red though not a lot.  So possible causes of spotting?  I've had the IUD for a year now and I havent spotted in between periods the whole time until a month ago.  What are possible causes of spotting and what can I do about it?

The IUD could have shifted from its norm placement , even as simple as uterine lining caught up in the IUD just now shedding and coming out as spotting . I do not have an IUD , however that was an option I was looking at in depth before I chose Essure. I doubt that its life threatening , but if it quells your fears go to a new Doc and have it confirmed that all is well. If you do not trust the doctor you have then you wont feel justly served so I would go to a new one. I do know that there are more after problems with IUD's than other things but it sounds to me like it would be something minor. If you go to the Essure website you can find very good info on IUD s that might help you. http://essure.com. Hope it helps. take care and God Bless.

thanks for the reply.  I know everyone asks similar questions that I should have answered myself by now.  I just don't trust that my doctor is taking me seriously.  I guess I'll worry if it continues.
Thanks again

I just wanted to post so you didn't feel ignored. I am not familiar with IUDs at all, but I did find this website for you. I don't know if it will help, but it is worth checking out because someone else was spotting after af.
