I need answers!!!

by ralsasha, Sep 08, 2007 08:09AM
Hi i am new to this so bear with me:) I am trying to conceive now for 18mths, i went to a natropath last month and he put me on chaste berry tablets or otherwise known as vitex, i took them from 27th july up to 15th august then stopped, i went to see a gyno in that week and he put me on clomid tablets i started taking them on the 19th - 23rd august and then went back on vitex on the 27th august until now. Im due for my period in a few days maybe 2 or 3 and am a bit worried as to which medication i should continue as i have heard from so many people that clomid and vitex counteract each other. Also i dont think i conceived this cycle due to that reason,my gyno said that vitex shouldnt matter with taking clomid but i really am unsure of this now. Please give me a real answer!!

I think your gyno's reassurance that vitex shouldn't matter when taking clomid is pretty reassuring.  Who is it who tells you they counteract each other?  If I understand what you are saying, you didn't take them at the same time, so there is nothing to "counteract."  Or do you mean you are being told that the vitex counteracts the results of clomid?  That doesn't seem possible.  Once you have produced eggs, they are produced, and that is what the clomid is for.

thanks for that, i actually heard it through typing clomid versus vitex in the google section and also by asking in yahoo questions and i had a few people tell me not to take them together but yes you are right, i dont actually take them together, its a few days apart, so hopefully this information helps ease my mind.thanks.
