Londa, since your period is late, you should take a home pregnancy test. You should still see the doctor, too, but until you can get the appointment, you should take a test so you can find out what it says.  That's what I would do if my period was late and I suspected pregnancy.

Hiya! I am in the same position as you me and my husband have been trying for our 2nd child for only a few weeks and my period is 4 days late also, I have taken a hpt and it was negative BUT when I was pregnant with my first it took 6 weeks of taking test before it came up positive, so theres a possibility I still am because I have very low counts of the pregnancy hormone in my body I have to be a significant amount of weeks pregnant before it shows, if I was you I would wait until you are a week or more late take a hpt and if its negative go to your gp and get a blood test done thats what im doing on thursday as I will be 1 week then. I hope I have helped a little x
