IUD and condoms
hello i'm just kinda wondering what do you think are the chances of being pregnant with the use of both condoms and  copper IUD every sexual contact. I'm just curious..also have you heard about any people who got pregnant using both of these methods? thanks

I have never heard of anyone getting pg while using both methods together. Chances of conception through an IUD are lower than with tubals and vasectomies. While they can happen, it is rare. Rarer still if you are using a condom as well.

Virtually zero.  The iud is the most effective form of birth control and adding a condom just makes it that much safer.

It's also a good combo if you are not monogamous; the IUD keeps you from pregnancy and the condoms keep you from STDs.

Well, depends how long you had the IUD in for. THey say not to have sex for 6 weeks after it's inserted because it needs to have time to take its effect..
But assuming you've had it for a while, I say 'good to go'
(I have the mirena btw)
