Implantation bleeding or period?

Hi everyone i was hoping that someone could give me some of their thoughts on this. I've always had normal regular periods. I'm not on any sort of birth control measures. My period ended on the 1st of this month and on the 2nd my Husband didn't withdrawl....which he normally always does. This past friday the 15th, i got my period. It started off brownish and turned bright red now it's Monday and it's still there but has never been enough to use a tampon or a pad. I just notice it when i use the restroom after i wipe. I have been cramping and have nipple soreness, like my usual periods but this period is way too early and light. Could this be implantation bleeding? I did take a pregnancy test the day after the bleeding started but it was negative. Would it have been to soon to tell? When should i take another test?
