Infection and 18 weeks pregnant.

I'm 18 weeks pregnant today. I got a stye in my eye late last week, I went to the doctors for it and the prescribed a Z-pack. Since it seemed to be getting better without the medicine I didn't take it (don't realy want to take medicine while I'm pregnant unless I have to) and it went away, I woke up this morning and my eye hurt really bad and the stye is back and bleeding! So I have a message in to the nurse at my Ob's office asking if I can take that medication (Z-pack), but my question is can having a stye in my eye cause harm to the baby? It's moving around in there and I still have my all day sickness so everything is ok now, but can this infection hurt the baby?

i dont think it can hurt the baby it has nothing to do with him/her. taking the meicine should of been done not trying to be mean but when your ob prescribes u medication for something they wont give u anything to harm the baby. i am 33 weeks pregnant and its my 3 child. i use to get uti's and not take the medication the infection would go away but come right back worse. so the best thing for u to do is take the medication that your ob prescribed you

Any untreated infection can be harmful to you and then harmful to the baby. Zithromax is safe to use during pregnancy.
