Ingrown hair infected

Ingrown hair infected

I had an ingrown hair on the inside of my thigh, I removed it with tweezers about 2 months ago and it was quite a large area of skin that was affected. It appeared to be healing however every time it tries to it seems to tear and sting and the skin feels very thin on top, looks very dark underneath the wound like there is blood there. Is there anything I can do to help this or should I see my doctor, I am a little embarrassed about it. Any advice would be welcome Thanks in advance! x

Please don't feel embarrased to see a doctor - they see things like this everyday and much worse! They will think nothing of it. It almost sounds like the ingrown hair has grown back (and gotton infected) and that's why it looks dark, but it's impossible to diagnose over the net, which is why you need to see your doctor! It would not hurt and probably help to put antiseptic on it (ask at pharmacy if you don't have at home) But if it persists please consult doctor. Good Luck.

I have gotten those before. I remeber putting vaseline on it so it would heal. When I let it dry up, my clothes would rub on it and break it open(tmi). But I would see a doctor because if it's infected, I don't think anything you put on it would help. Don't be embarassed! Doctors see much worse than an ingrown hair issue !! Good luck
