Ingrown hair?

I have a ingrown hair on the inner part of my vaginal lips that popped last night and now it looks like a oversized sore. i have genital herpes and i know its not that kind of sore because it was full of puss. now its very uncomfortable and it hurts. is there anything i can use over the counter to make it go away?

I'm not sure if there is a medication, but a hot compress (hot cloth, whatever) works great.

I think vaseline will help also. A thin layer helps it from getting more irritated rubbing on things and such. When I had an ingrown hair issue, that's what I did for about 2 days and it was much better.

I also get these as I wax down there. You need to make sure that you have got the ingrown hair out - I assume this happened when it popped but if not it won't heal properly until you do. I got some special tweezers from the chemist that work brilliantly or you could sterilise a needle with a flame. It's really not as gross as it sounds! So long as the hair and puss is out it should heal fine. I just use some over the counter anti-septic cream and that works really well.

Not really relevant but I'm often amazed at how long some of the ingrown hairs get before they cause problems. My record is 2 inches!!
