I think vaseline will help also. A thin layer helps it from getting more irritated rubbing on things and such. When I had an ingrownIngrown toenail hair issue, that's what I did for about 2 days and it was much better.
I also get these as I waxWax blockage Wax blockage in the ear down there. You need to make sure that you have got the ingrownIngrown toenail hair out - I assume this happened when it popped but if not it won't heal properly until you do. I got some special tweezers from the chemist that work brilliantly or you could sterilise a needle with a flame. It's really not as gross as it sounds! So long as the hair and puss is out it should heal fine. I just use some over the counter anti-septic cream and that works really well.
Not really relevant but I'm often amazed at how long some of the ingrown hairs get before they cause problems. My record is 2 inches!!
