IQ tests measure a persons ability to do mental tasks,it is more focused on how fast you can think instead of the information you know, like most school tests are. School work is more based on book smarts...like reading and interpretation of the reading. Studying is a major role in school perormance.

BTW, many people with genius IQ tend to do terrible in school. It's more memorization than what the higher IQ person would be accustomed to. They do better in hands on and applied learning rather than lecture and tests. Hey, Einstein flunked high school math, and he was considered a genius, I don't know if that's regarding his IQ or not, but it's comforting to know!
