Irregular/long cycles, when to test?

Okay so according to all those ovulation calculators I should have ovulated around 6-8 days after the last time I had sex.  I think they're full of ****.  I don't think they don't work for me because I get the ovulation pains a week too early then.  That would make my luteal phase 3 weeks and off the charts but the charts can kiss my butt.  Anyway I think I could possibly maybe hopefully be pregnant.  Which dates should i test by?  14 days after last intercourse or expected period?  Or somewhere in between?  I'm about 14 days after last intercourse right now but I don't expect a period for another week.  I'm thinking about testing in 3 days.
