Irritated vagina

I have really red, irritated skin near my vagina, around the labia. I'm afraid to pee now because when I do, it burns so bad. I went to my Ob and she said everything was fine that it's just irritated.  What can I do to help the healing process along and not be so uncomfortable when I pee. Can I use neosporin or a&d on it to help soothe the pain?

Hello,

I am surprised your OB didn't give you anything, or suggest anything to soothe the irritation, but glad there was nothing found out wrong.  You could try said ointments, but just beware that it's a real sensitive area as you well know, and it just may irritate it more.  Or it could help it, you never know.  I would try nice warm baths, no soap.  I know this isn't much help, but it's such a tender area I rarely suggest putting anything down there.  Good luck and I hope it heals for you soon :)
