Is it true that soy products are bad for young women?

by Aruba417, Jan 17, 2007 12:00AM
I am on a very strict diet. I've been eating soy nuts as a snack. My mom found out and warned me that I shouldn't eat soy products because it contains a ton of estrogen. She said that it's bad for younger women (I'm 26) because it can screw with my hormones and mess with my cycle. My sister also agreed with my mom. I'd never heard this before and was wondering if it was true. The strange thing is, I JUST started eating soy nuts last Thursday, and I started my period the Sunday after that. It was 5 days early. Coincidence?

"no" to which part? No, it doesn't act like estrogen? Or "no" it's not a coincidence...?
