Is this a normal period when on the pill?

by Mingobear0712, Feb 07, 2008 04:02PM
I am on my 8th month of yasmin birth control. I started my withdrawal bleed Saturday morning at 7 am. (It was on time.) It was a little lighter than the months before, but I was filling pads. I had cramps and everything that I usually have. My boyfriend also wore a condom both times we had sex last month. The breast pain I get before my period went away after I started. I normally have short periods (3-4 days). By Tuesday I had pretty much stopped bleeding, just some brown stuff on the pad. Wednesday I wore a pantiliner and had brown stuff, but nothing really. Then today, I started bleeding red again. It was 1 gush that was only there when I wiped (bright red) and then it trailed off to brownish and has now stopped again. I am currently on the active pills again (I have taken 1.) Is this normal? I have never had it start, stop, and then semi-start again. I put on a pantiliner because I thought I started again but there is nothing on the pantyliner or when I wipe anymore. Please help. Is this normal even though I'm on the pill? I'm scared this could mean I'm pregnant or something, although that's not exactly a symptom. I haven't had sex in 3 weeks. Should I take a test even though I had a withdrawal bleed? In my packet it says that if you were pregnant you would not have a withdrawal bleed because the rising level of progesterone in pregnancy will cancel out the drop from stopping the pill, so I am confident I'm not pregnant but worried because I started bleeding again! It hasn't even been a week since I started my withdrawal, so do you think this is just left over blood and nothing to worry about? Help please!

I just took a test and it was negative, which I figured. I still don't get it though. The bleeding, whatever it was, has pretty much stopped now. It's only been 5 days since my withdrawal bleed started (it didn't start until the 4th day of my placebos) so maybe it's just my withdrawal finishing up....
