Is this a yeast infection?

I was supposed to start my period on Saturday, but all that has appeared in that area are these snotty, brown strands when I wipe, with extremely small trace amounts of blood (nothing like I'd experience on a normal period).

I've been on birth control pills for the past 3 months in order to get my periods started back up again (I didn't have a period for several months before that), but I've never experienced anything like this.  The past 2 months, my periods have come on time, and they've been completely normal.

I'm not experiencing any discomfort down there, or any odd/bad smells.

Can anyone help?

hi, i have been on birth control pills for 3 years now. and befor that on depo, and since i'v began the pills my periods are just as you said yours is. i don't have red blood anymore, every period is the brown old blood, which is gooey just like mucus. and there is so little of it i only need to use panty liners for my whole period. i was told that this is regular. so don't be scared of the color. i personally believe that it is that color because my cycle is delayed untill i use up all the pills. so it just sits in there, getting old. ( old blood turns brown ) I HAVE NOT seen a doc, just letting you know i think it is normal.

Well, the pinkish discharge is not the only symptom.  What is mainly coming out is this snotty, stringy, brown, mucous like discharge.  I have Never had this before.

I read somewhere last night that if you're getting that kind of discharge and the blood spotting (and I only have a little bit of spotting), then it's often a sign of pregnancy.

So I took a home pregnancy test this morning, but it came back negative.  I'm also on b/c pills, so I shouldn't be pregnant, but I have been feeling pregnant for a couple of weeks now.  Is it possible that the b/c pills are suppressing the pregnancy hormones?

Well, either way, I'm going to call my dr. tomorrow to make an appt.  Because if I'm not pregnant, and I'm still not starting my period (which has been very reg. since I started the pills), then something else is wrong..  oy...

from my personal experience with yeast infections, they are very painful.  if the pinkish discharge is the only symptom and you should be starting anytime, i'd say it is probably related to that.
