Is this normal?

I usually have regular and heavy periods for about 4/5 days but my recent period has been the complete opposite, (I have been sexually active but we've been realy sensible with contraception) it came a week early with no stomach cramps, no warnings just appeared and all it was, was very light brown discharge and its carried on ever since for about 5/6 days! I also been getting really bad headaches with it too?! Which i've never had before! Is this just a wierd period and nothing to worry about or is there something wrong? Please help :)
