It hurts and itches and I'm freaking out what do I do?

I started noticing an irritation on my vagina and figured it would just go away like usual. The day after the irritation got worse and I'm swelling really bad as well. I put on monistat but all its doing is burning and making it hurt even worse and the itching is becoming increasingly worse as well. What the hell is going on?

I had what I thought was a yeast infection. But I've never had one before and I'm 37. On the box it tells you if you've never had one then do not use it, have u had a yeast infection before? I went to my Ob and he prescribed me a topical cream (steroid) for the itching. Was checked for std and he looked under microscope, nothing.... But what he gave me is like an anti fungal cream to put on my lady bits but NOT in the vagina. So go to your Ob.

I have had a yeast infection before and I called my ob he told me that I may be allergic to the monistat and that was what was causing the intense irritation and proscribed me nystatin thank you for the advice!
