Kidney cancer

I am a 49years old female and had an ultra sound that showed two lesions on my rt kidney. One lesion is 5-6 cc and the other on is 3-4cc. Doctor said they are stable and follow up with another ultra sound in one year. I feel this is too long to wait and something else should be done. What causes lesions on kidneys? What other test should be done to make sure this isn't cancer? Nattynurse
