My doctor told me if I have to have a LEEP then I have to wait a year until I can try to get pregnant. I heard it only takes 3mo for the cervix to heal, so why do I have to wait a year? If I get pregnant before that year is up what happens?

I just had the LEEP done last month.  Since i was trying to get pregnant my doctor scheduled it right after my period ended so it would heal and it could try again the following month.  Do ask your doctor though.

I think you have to wait at least 6 months.  You need to heal.  Why don't you ask your doctor to be sure?  Just and FYI, I did hear of one woman who got pregnant 1 month after LEEP but I'm not quite sure that's healthy.  The important thing is that you can get pregnant and have a normal pregnancy.  Good luck!!!
