Large bumps on both sides of outter lips of vagina

I have two large and rather painful bumps on the outter lips. One on each side, I get these every few months or so. One will show up and then not too long after one on the other side will show up. they are usually in the same places everytime they appear.I used to shave but not anymore due to the fact that i get ingrown hairs. they get rather hard and sore to the touch.the one on the right side is more in area of where my underwear line would be (where my legs creases) the bump started out being the size of a qaurter and right on the underwear line and was so painful I had to walk with a limp. Now the puss under the skin seems to have spread to my leg just outside my underwear line along with still being in the original place. The other side is a bump about the size of a grape and is more on the outterlip and than near my underwear line. Is it normal for one bump to show up and then another on the other side? Usually this happens when it gets hot or Im on my period but I have not had my period yet and they have come up.I have read a few comments on here and I dont think its any kind of std....but this has been happening off and on for about 4 years now.please a little insight would be great!!

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
If the lumps are in the skin then it can be due to infected hair follicles or boils. Avoid any kind of cosmetics. Topical antibiotics such as mupirocin or neomycin containing ointment are also useful. In case the symptoms persist then oral antibiotics may be needed. Please consult a dermatologist in that case.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
