My cycles are frighteningly regularRegular insulin. Even the intenities are predictable-a day or two spottingVaginal bleeding between periods at each end, two days heavy flow tapering off. If I start on Monday morning, I end on Monday morning. No mid-cycle spotting or pain.
D&C biopsy shows no cancerous cells.
There is no uterine cancer in my family that I know of, only colorectal, lung (among the smokers, which I am not), and my mother is the only woman in our family history to ever have breast cancer. She is a 5+year survivor.
My sister had her fibroid removed at 40, and left her ovaries.
Others say I shouldn't keep them.
What are the pros and cons of keeping the ovaries?
This decision should be made after careful discussion with your doctor. There are pros and cons to each side, and only you and your physician knows your exact medical history. It might even be worth getting another opinion from a doctor who will not be involved with the surgery, if you're still unsure.
