Late Period

Hi, i'm new to the forum, so i apologise in advance if i have chosen the wrong forum.

I've 4 days late for my period, i've never been late in 17 years, so this prompted me to take a pregnancy test today - which was negative. I have sore breasts, but there are no signs off my period?  Could the test be wong? (i used first reponse)  My last period was 5th July and after looking at various websites, it appears my partner and i had sex when i was most fertile (20th July)  

My concern is this weekend i will be celebrating my partners birthday (we have planned a bbq so it will be an early start and drinks with be flowin) and i don't want to drink if there is a possiblity i could be pregnant.

Can anyone help?

Well i went to the Doctors and had a blood, unfortunately it came back negative :(

however my period still hasn't come, i'm hoping it will come as normal next month?

When I was prego my test came back postive the day my period was due, however my good friend's test didn't show until 2 weeks after her period was due.  You never know so just be smart about your decisions until you are certain.

Sounds like the best thing to do is just go to the Doc's :)

Like I said its what I have heard ... and not is not THAT serious you need to go to the Doc today or anything but if there is some chance I was prego and there was something I wanted to do this weekend and I wanted to be SAFE I would go in ... but that is me .. I would hate not knowing ... BUt anything I can do to help ... :0)

well i had a feeling i was pregnant and that something was going on

like i said you dont need to drink. i doubt you will get an accurate result for a few more days  so dont drink till you know for sure.

if you get a blood test that will tell you for sure as well

Sorry i'm not with the abbreviations what does BFP mean?

I don't any different, as most people seem to say you "just know" when you are?  My concern is i've never ever been late or missed a period

Thanks for the advice.  I got 2 tests in the pack, so i'll leave until Friday and take another test, but first thing.  The test i took today was at 11am and i'd been to the toilet 4 times already!

its not so serious that you need to go see your doctor today or anything. i didnt get my bfp until i was over a week and a half late and i took the first response test when i was almost a year late.

if you think your pregnant you dont need to be drinking. its not like you HAVE to drink. just dont drink, its that simple

You should see your Doc today or go to Urgent care if you cant into them and find out if you are ... unless you took the pregnancy test FIRSt thing this morning ... there is a chance it may not read correctly.  I am unsure how affective take home tests are as I have never had to use one .. but I have been told your levels are highest when you first wake up and that is prime time to take the test.  Wish I would be more helpful
