Late and on Yazmin birth control.

I am on Yazmin birth control pills and have been for over a year now, 3 months ago I switched to the 21 day pack and was fine the first two months.  I was always regular as a teenager but now I'm almost 22 and am seeming to get more irregular. Back in February my time of the month was a week late. Since then it hasn't been late by that much but now I am 12 days late. I took a pregnancy test and it was negative.  I take my pill within 2 hours everyday and haven't missed any, also my fiancee' pulls out (which I know there is pre-*** but still the pill should prevent that causing pregnancy right?) Is this one of the side-affects of Yazmin? is this common?  Is it possible I just didn't ovulate this month and will therefore miss a month? I have a doctor's appointment scheduled for Sept. 3rd but until then I will have to wait. If anyone has any advice or similar problem please respond!

Yes yaz is awful, I feel lucky I didn't have any of the really serious side effects like blood clots and gall bladder issues. I'm still recovering from being on it though. I'm staying off of birth control pills for now but if/when I go back on the pill it will be low dose.

I hope you are doing better!

Yeah I have heard alot of bad things about Yaz including commercials from lawyers saying you can get money if you or someone you know was hurt or killed by taking it, it sounds like a pretty bad pill. I think that's what I'm going to do, I was on Tri cylen lo when I was a teenager and it was good maybe I'll go back to that one. Thanks for the advice!

Although the pill does prevent pregnancy it still happens. However if you have been gradually becoming more irregular it could just be the pill itself. I read some posts on other forums about women getting pregnant while on yaz but I'm not sure how common it is. I was on yaz for a year and a few months (just stopped taking it recently) and had awful side effects while on the pill and from stopping it. I was regular at first but then became irregular after a while, one of the more minor side effects.

The first thing you need to do right now is see your doctor, which you are doing. If you are not pregnant  you should look into the side effects of yasmin and possibly switch to a lower dose pill.
