Late period but on Meds

I have had a regular period forever (every 29 days). Mine is 8 days late. I have pneumonia and strep throat so I am on antibiotics, an inhaler, and cough syrup with codeine. Could this be causing me to be late?

Just took a hpt - negative! I did not have unprotected sex. Actually me being sick meant we did not have sex very often either. I am almost done with my meds. Hopefully it will all be normal again soon.

well, is there a chance you could be pregnant? did you have unprotected sex during a fertile time? if the answer is a definite no, then yes, the meds may have something to do w. you being late along with worrying. if you did have unprotected sex, then you should take a home pregnancy test because as the other poster (joanna) said, you DO NOT want to be taking all these meds if you may be pregnant. thats for sure!!!

You should find out now because IF you ar pregnant, all those meds could hurt the baby. I know you feel cruddy but maybe getting some good news??? would help in the recovery. And it really is vital to monitor your drug intake in the early stages of pregnancy since this is a very sensitive time in the development. I sure hope you are feeling better soon, I can only imagine how lousy you must feel.

I would say yes. That's the short answer. It COULD be causing you to be late. It also could not. Any disruption to your normal routine can throw your cycle off track, including medications or just plain stress, physical or emotional. Have you taken a HPT?
