Long cycles??

I'm trying to get pregnant with #1. I've been trying for 9 months with no luck. I have 40 day long cycles so it takes forever for me to ovulate, I wish I had shorter cycles. Is it harder to get pregnant with longer cycles?

I have 2 cycles charted!! I hope that is enough for her to make a decision with. I really want to be on clomid, I know the side effects and I know it doesn't work on everyone, but the last few people I've known to get pregnant got pregnant on clomid the first month they went on it.

Thank you for your help!!

No, if you are ovulating that late, you can get on clomid. Are you charting your cycles? If not you should start so you can go in to the dr with your charts and show him/her. Good luck!

I ovulate on about day 26 or 27. I'd really like to be put on clomid, but everyone keeps telling me that doctors won't do that unless you aren't ovulating at all.

Do you know what day you ovulate on? Your eggs aren't as good if you ovulate about day 20 as opposed to say day 14. I had a friend that ovulated late and her dr put her on clomid to get her to ovulate sooner in her cycle. She has an 8 month old daughter now.
