Hi I had a baby 2 years ago friday and during that pregnancy i had the same! I had scans so often and so many of them so the docs do keep a good eye on you! Unfortunately for me, the placentaAnatomy of a normal placenta Placenta Placenta abruptio Placenta previa Ultrasound, normal placenta - braxton hicks Ultrasound, normal relaxed placenta didnt move...only leaving a 1" gap which wasnt good enough but I was booked up for a C, Section out of choice from my own. The doc told me I could give it a go and see if the baby would push the placentaAnatomy of a normal placenta Placenta Placenta abruptio Placenta previa Ultrasound, normal placenta - braxton hicks Ultrasound, normal relaxed placenta out of the way, but it could go either way and be rushed in for a emergencyEmergency airway puncture Emergency contraception c section or what ever! Anything could happen so I never wanted to take a risk like that and decided to go for a c, section anyway! Before natural birth began! Dont mean to scare you just trying to help! I made my choice quite late in pregnancy so not sure how long you have left...but your baby still could move that placenta! All the best of luck hope everything works out great for you! Oh one other thing I had another section 4 years ago ago so yes after the op you still can have more babies but they do only limit you to 3 c, sections! But hey 3 is enough for me! You can have a natural birth after the 1st C, section but lowers your chances to 60% possiblity due to scar tissue so I was told. Seeing as I have 2 C, sections that has lowered my chances of natural birth to 40%, yet again what the doc told me! All due to the scar tissue. But still possible! So good luck anyway kind regards, Mystery! xxx
I had it too, and during my secind trimester the placenta started to pull away from the wall of the uterus, and they put me on bed rest for six weeks It healed, and the placenta moved up, but if it doesn', then you would need a c-section
From my reading I learned that yes, your placenta tends to grow up with your expanding uterus, but it doesn't really "move". The thing to look out for is bleeding that can happen later on in pregnancy when the lower part of the uterus starts to stretch in preparation for giving birth and the placenta tears. You may be put on bedrest if that happens.
So if it stays, you will probably need the c-section. The biggest problem is - as the others said - the scar tissue. In a next pregnancy IF the placenta is anterior and IF you have a low placenta or previa it MAY cause a placenta accreta (count the IF's!). My friend has had 3 C-sections, never a problem. I had one and have a low anterior placenta and suspected accreta. Just bad luck!
I think it's good to know what can happen, but remember chances are way better that the problem will solve itself, so good luck!
Low lying is not so bad. Placenta Previa in notg so good. that is when the plcenta completely covers the cervix. That is an automatic c-Section. things will be ok and you will have another baby.
i read that you had a low placenta and placenta previa. Im 23 weeks and i have that too... im so scared can you help calm any of my fears? did you ever bleed? i have twice in the last two weeks and ended up in the hospital both times they are now talking about giving me a shot for the baby to mature his lungs. they think that he will be here very early... please give me some insite on what happened to you and help calm my fears. also they have put me on bed rest untill my due date and have been on already for two weeks... only have untill february to go lol and i have a one year old and a two year old.
