Lower Abdominal Pain

Okay, so I'm 20 years old and close to a year ago I ended my pregnancy of only a few weeks.  I am now still almost a year later feeling a great deal of abdominal pain mostly on my right side.  Sometimes I have it on my left, and usually I have lower back pain.  I went to the gyno. and had an ultrasound done and he said I had a small hemmoraghinic(sp?) cyst on my right side.  Also when I was at the clinic they told me I had a cyst filled with liquid and they said it should go away and this was why I was having pain on my right side.  Well, I went back to the gyno. and he also said I had a inverted uterus and that the cyst could not be causing that kind of pain. He actually couldn't even see my ovary on the monitor the 2nd time I went back. He put me on birth control to help get rid of it, but it is still here.  My periods can be pretty painful.  He wants to go in laprascopically to see what is wrong with me, but I was wondering if anyone may have an idea?  I also have a dark colored discharge and sometimes yellowish discharge. Sometimes I itch pretty bad, too.  My boyfriend broke out pretty bad and was itching, he went to the doctor and they said he had Type 1 Herpes, but it was nothing to worry about.  When I have to urinate, it usually hits me pretty fast.  I've had 2 urinary tract infections, as well.  I got tested for any STDs just recently and they all came back negative, but it was suggested that I could have Pelvic Inflammatory Disease.  Any kind of intercourse hurts very badly.  Are there any suggestions as to what this may be?????

When or if you ever figure this out please tell me because I have the exact same problems that you described. I have been checked for endometriosis and they found nothing. I also on top of having an inverted uterus have a tilted bladder and my left kidney is pretty much 180 degrees from where it should be. I was put on seasonique 9 months ago and it has helped with the heaviness of my periods but sometimes the pain is still there to the point that I was prescribed pain medication. Hopefully they can figure out what is causing your problems, but please do not give up until they do!

It sounds to me like you have some very good ideas about what you may have.  Unfortunately, your doc is the only one who can pinpoint where your pain is coming from.  I know it may be frustrating to not know, but sometimes the only answer they have is to investigate further.  Try not to be frustrated, and you may have to endure some testing to figure out what is wrong.

I know how you feel about the abdominal pain. I have it on my left side. I was diagnosed with adenomyosis. It is problem with the lining of the uterus. It is very hard to determine. The symptoms are abdominal pain, heavy and painful periods and clotting during periods, and painful during intercourse. I have developed this because I had 2 vaginal births after a cesearean and it causes the lining of the uterus to "go crazy!". I am going for a hysterectomy next month along with an oopherectomy (my left ovary removed) due  to a cyst also. You may want to ask your dr if adenomyosis  is a possibility, and maybe google it to see if maybe these are your symptoms too.
I can't tell you much about your other problem though. Hope this was helpful- good luck and keep a bottle of midol handy!!
