Lump under skin near vagina

I have a lump under my skin to the right of my vagina (very close to my thigh.. it is almost on my underwear line). I'm not sure exactly how long its been there, im pretty sure at least 2 years. at first i barely noticed it, and last april it started hurting and would bleed and pus all the time for like a month. then it stopped and didnt hurt anymore, but was still there. now it swelled up and hurts a lot for the past 3 days. i dont have insurance but last year i was so nervous about it, i went to a doctor and she tested it for herpes and it was negative. ive thought of everything from cyst to ingrown hair, but nothing is clicking. its like a ball the size of a nickel under my skin. please give me any suggestions!!
