Is being exhasted, tired, and feeling weak typical of menopause??  I used to have so much energy.  Will it come back? Ever?

If you are noticing a difference in your energy level, it may have nothing to do with menopause but rather low iron/anemia.  I would see your general practitioner or ob/gyn and get this checked as it is an easy fix.  Do you take a multi vitamin?

yes, it's not easy getting older.  :>)  I have found regular exercise helps with my energy level.  That seems like the opposite of what you'd expect, however, I absolutely find my energy level higher if I stay with my exercise routine.  Do you exercise at all (even brisk walking)?

Thanks very much for your reply.

I have read off an on about menopausal fatigue, but this fatigue i've got just goes on and on and on... so I was wonderfing whether anyone else has this problem.

I must say thought, a good piece of red meat usually picks me up but you'd think that I shouldn't need to eat a steak for energy?? Aside from that my diet is pretty good, I don't eat sweets.

I'm 50 so I suppose this is where I'm up to.  My body aches too, the joy the joy!!

Hi there.  Well, menopause doesn't happen over night or quickly.  It often takes YEARS.  Not sure of your age or why you think this is related to menopause hon.

I'm reaching those years myself.  What I experience is heavier periods (still come on time) but shorter duration.  I have insomnia for about three nights during the pms period of my cycle.  I have some agitation, anxiety, and moodiness.  And an occasional hot flash in the middle of the night.

I found that just because of my age that I at times had an issue with energy.  A few months ago, I did some major reworking of my lifestyle.  I totally revamped my diet.  I gave up sugar---  not all as that is impossible to do---  but anything like soda, sweets of any sort, etc.  I gave up most bread products.  ALL processed foods from chips to crackers, etc.  I cut calories as well.  I also started exercising religiously 5 times a week with at least 30 minutes of cardio a day.  And I take a good mutlti vitamin.

And my energy level is better just by a healthier lifestyle.  I went through a period of time in which I was very tired right at first most likely from the change in sugar habits.   But after that initial period, I am more energetic.

So, look at your lifestyle as well to see if changes there could help you with the energy.  good luck
