Menstrual Gush

I'm 46 yrs young. My periods used to be irregular but over the last 12 months or so have settled to every 28 days. They seem heavier (day 1 light a day or 2 heavy then they stop rather than "dwindle " away). However this last one started as per usual lightly, then on the 2nd day I had this large "gush" filling a light pad  and then the period has returned tolight almost none existant as per usual.Anyone else experienced this???

It could be the start of the "change".  I hadn't gushed since
I was teenager.  Now I gush every period.  My GYN said it's
because I'm starting the change.  If I were you, I'd check
with your GYN and see what he/she thinks.  It could be a polyp
or a fibroid or ?

I usually have one light day, two days of Niagara Falls, then total complete stopping.  I go about 18 hours without one single drop, then have another sudden gush, then it dwindles for a day or two.  When it gushes that second time, its like a second period starting all over again with cramps, discomfort, etc, until the gush has passed.  It's odd....but its my pattern.....
