Migraines or needs glasses?

I'm not sure if this is the place to ask. Well a month ago, i noticed I was getting really bad headaches, in my temple. The only way I seem to get rid of the pain was to sleep. Well, ever since then I have had this cycle of being Sick. 1st my head will hurt (like A migriane), I start to feel Nausea, and most of the time to do vomit. I work on a computer everyday, and maybe I need glasses. I guess my main question is will migraines make you nauseas. I have never experinced anything like this before. I have work at the same place since May.  Could it be anything else. My husband thinks its migrianes, i really dont want to go to the doctor and he give me some kind of medicine that makes me out of it. Is there something I can do? Well the only other change I can think of that I have made is, i move in a new house in October. Im not sure what to do. I have made an appt. with the doctor, but I was wanting some feedback.

Eye strain will cause what you are talking about.  If you do not wear glasses, go to an eye dr. and get your vision checked out.  I have 20/20 vision but still wear computer glasses.  Unfortunately I have about 4 migraines a month which I do have medication for however, prior to the computer glasses, I was getting daily headaches.  Another thing that may help is to stand up from your computer every few hours and look down the hall.  It helps to refocus your eyes.

Good Luck with it.  Migraines suck!

i was diagnosed with migraines over a year ago. My doc gave me Imitrex as a diagnostic tool. If it my headache went away with it, i had migraines and if it did not then I did not have a migraine.  Migraines occur when blood vessels in your brain contract.  The imitrex opens up the vessels allowing more blood flow to the brain.  Mine are tension induced. They began 2 months after I was in a car accident(guy hit me going about 75mph) and I have tension in my neck.  That causes pressure on vessels going to the scalp which in turn causes blood flow to be restricted the brain.  The imitrex increases blood flow and opens the vessels back up.

I have had migraines for years. Sometimes foods such as chocolate, peanuts, aged cheese, too much caffeine or chinese food will trigger my migraines. I did not have any luck with Imitrex, excedrin for migraines or herbal feverfew. I found a chiropractor that does accupuncture, accupressure type procedures. When I start getting migraines a couple of times a week I go visit Dr. J,he works his magic and the headaches go away for 3 to 6 months.
I also take my children to him when they have runny noses and coughs. Well first I go to the traditional pedatricians to make sure there is no major concern and usually they say it's just a cold it will pass. Then I take them to Dr. J, he does not adjust them, he just rubs certain places in their neck and on their back. Their noses stop running almost immediately.
Good luck!

Go to your control panel, click on display, then click settings, then advanced. Once there click on monitor, we have ours set to 60 hertz, but you can play around with yours until you find one that seems to help.

It made a huge difference for me. I also have to watch out for certains types of lighting. Keep hydrated, make sure you are eating small frequent meals (when my bloodsugar drops, it mimicks a migraine) and rest. I cannot take excedrine migraine as I am allergic to aspirin, but give it a shot.

It might be a good idea to talk with your doctor. They can diagnose if they suspect migraines and offer treatment advice. I have been taking supplements as a preventative and have had great success. I take magnesium, riboflavin and feverfew. They actual sell a supplement with all three, though while pg or TTC I just stick with the riboflavin. BTW, these were all suggested by my neurologist, not some hippy herbalist : )

Good luck, I know exactly how you feel!

I used to get at least 3 migraines a week but now only about 1 a month.  You said you just recently moved that could have something to do with it.  About 2 years ago when my migraines started, I was living in a condo building that was stucco and I live in the south so it is hot and humid.  Well I didn't think about it then but when I went to the doctor complaining about how my migraines were getting worse the doctor asked me where I lived and I later found out the building had mold in it.  Another thing, I was on the patch for about 3 years and just recenetly switched to the ring.  Every since switching I have maybe one a month.  It can also have a lot to do with stress.  I have never got a migraine from being on the computer, but I can tell you if you start to get one I have trouble looking at anything.  I am also very sensitive to sounds and get nauseated although I've never thrown up.  It took me a few months to figure out how to know when they are coming.  But now that I know, whenever I feel it coming on I take my medicine and goes away very quickly.  I have tried several brands and the best one out there is Imitrex.  It never makes me feel tired.  If I am in pain when I finally take the medicine I take the pill and lay down for about 20-30 min and its gone.  I would go to a doctor and talk to them about it and ask about imitrex, it's the best out there.

Migraines can definitely make you vomit. It's no fun. I've had them bad enough where I've had to go to the ER and get IVs for the pain. Sometimes flourescent lights in the office seem to trigger mine...as well as stress and fatigue. If it turns out to be Migraines, ask about Imitrex, it's great and helps a lot. OTC Excedrin can also help (as a previous poster mentioned)especially if you take it the minute you feel the slightest headache coming on. Good luck and God Bless.

Hi, I get a migrane on a regular basis.. Try excedrine Migranie I swear by it. It say to take 2 but that makes me out of it. If you take 1 your migrane will be on in less than 30 minutes. The nausea is the beginning of the migrane. If you can take the excedrine before you get to the neasua part of it you can stop it before it happens. It helps me everytime. I  hope this information helps you.

I throw up with every migraine I have, so it is possible. It could also be related to your vision. Have you adjusted your refresh rate on your PC? I had to do that as it was actually triggering migraines for me (as does bright light).
