Miscarriage

I am currently experiencing menstrual like bleeding but it is nothing like my normal menstrual. I am about 1 1/2 weeks late on my period. The blood that is coming out is a very thick and it only comes out when i stand or even more when i sit to use the restroom it begins to stream out (but in thick clots). This has been going on for 3 days now. I was in the ER last week on Sunday for extreme discomfort and what i thought may be a bladder infection. I was diagnosed with a Kidney infection and Bacterial Vaginosis. I wasn't surprised because i get a UTI usually once a  year.  A week went by and i was feeling a little better when it hit me. I began feeling EXTREME lower abdominal pain that was similar to a period cramp times 1000. I stood up and felt a sudden blood rush in a stream, into my undergarments. I didn't know how to handle this so i put a pad on quickly. The pain was unbearable. Very little blood would come out when i was sitting but as soon as i stood up, the pad would be full of a thick clotted blood. The pain got so bad i began crying and was again rushed to the ER to to find out what was wrong. At the ER they did a simple ultra sound to check for ruptured cysts but found no cysts. About 6 hours and a couple pain pills later i was feeling better, but the bleeding continues. Now it has been 3 full days with heavy blood clots dripping out of me every time i sit to use the restroom. The bleeding in between is very minimal. could i have had a miscarriage before even realizing i was pregnant? would they have been able to tell this by the ultra sound? someone give me some insight. I want to figure out what's been going on with me. Thank you soooooooo much!

When they did the ultra sound I think they only measured my ovaries or something... Im not sure. The Doc just said "We saw no cysts" I am going to take a pregnancy test tonight! Thank you guys.

take a pregnancy test.  That should tell you if your hormones are elevated or not.  If it was a miscarriage, I am very sorry to hear that.  I know how painful them can be.  I had one myself, and it felt like I was dying.  I did feel that same rush of blood when I had my miscarriage.  Do talk to your doctor though, especially if it continues to bleed, and you have clots that are the size of a plumb or larger.

Sounds like trouble, you did not say if the ER did a ultrasound to see if u were pregnant in your tubes
I went through the same symptoms but It all happeded in one day and by the time I got to the ER
my tube had bursted, I had just found out 2 days previous that I was pregnant.

Hmmm! That's a tough one, because if you're only little over a week late, they probably wouldn't be able to see much on an u/s anyway. Plus, if it was in fact a miscarriage, you could have passed any tissue before the u/s.

I think I would set up an appointment with your obgyn, if I were you. Hope you get an answer and start feeling better soon!
