Missed Birth Control Pills

I went out of town and left my pills at home... I was gone for three days and missed those pills. I know that I have to start a new pack, but a few days later I started bleeding like I was having another period but it had only been 11 days since my last period . It has been over four weeks since my actual period and I thought that I should have started again by now but I haven't. I have taken a home prgnancy test after the fifth day that I missed and it was negative. But should I expect to have a period four weeks from the original period or should I count the in between bleeding as a period and go four weeks form that? I am really confused.... I have never done this before.  Can anyone help me???

If your pregnancy test is coming as negative then there is no need to worry about. But if you are still in doubt then go again  fro the pregnancy test. I suggest you one pill which never show side-effects is plan b morning after birth control pills, it has no side issues & its not a big deal to miss one or two pills of it.

I'm not sure I completely understand...however, I will try to advise--
When you missed the 3 pills (are you a Sunday pill starter???), when you missed them, you should've started your new pill pack on Sunday.  Of course, its not unusual that you to "started" another period--W/out the hormones in the pill, you start your period.  So, when you started the new pack, you should count the full 3 weeks of new active pills, and then start another period during your placebo week (if you have a placebo week)...otherwise, you should start sometime after day 21 of your new pill pack.  Remember that if you miss more than one pill in a month, you should use back-up birth control.
In order to calculate pregnancy possibilities, you should count backwards to your ORIGINAL period date...and I would test anyway, just to be on the safe side.  You can purchase HPT's cheaply at the local Dollar Store, and my OB said they are exactly the same as the expensive ones!!!  The only reason I say to test, because I certainly don't think you are preg., but I just say better to be safe than sorry.  With your periods being messed up,  it would be hard for me to have peace of mind without knowing for sure, unless you used backup.  I don't know if I answered anything that you asked, but I hope this helps.  Pills are very confusing, and I'm glad we've had "snip-snip"...Good luck..MH

Uhhh...that's why I did not do well on the pill.  I think you should call the local health unit or your doctor, maybe even the pharmacy that precribed the pills to you. Sorry could not help.
