More Discharge - HELP!

I have had a white vaginal discharge (with no distinguishing smell)for almost a week now. I tried Monistat 1 even though I've never had a yeast infection and I know I should've gone to the Dr first. It has been 3 days now and there has been no change or improvement in the discharge.

The thing is I haven't had any itching or burning. Though the inside of my vagina appears swollen but not sore.

I also seem to be urinating like crazy and definitely have less control of my bladder. I've actually had a couple of leaks, especially when I cough.

I am calling my Dr. first thing Monday morning but in the meantime I'm sorta freakig out. I had an abnormal pap smear a few weeks ago and my dr. didn't seem too worried, just booked me for a follow up pap in 5 months.

Does anyone have any idea what this could be?

Finally went to the Doc today. She tested for Yeast infection and did not find one.

She did a pregnancy test as well though we both knew it wasn't likely.

I did get my hopes up briefly though, my first child was conceived while his father was going through chemo and after we were told he would not be able to have kids, so it wouldn't have surprised me that much if I was. I couldn't wait so went and bought a home preg test, which came out negative, oh well,I wasn't trying or planning for another child anyway.

Doc did another pap smear, which I'm sure will come back abnormal as they always seem to. Also gave me some antibiotics to see if it helps. Discharge disappeared yesterday, but the inside of my vagina is really swollen - not sore at all though...

Also gave me antibiotics for three days and told me to use 3 day canestan so that the antibiotics don't bring a yeast infect. on (though I've never actually had one)

The only thing is that i can't stop peeing, my doc didn't beleive it until she saw me use the toilet 2 times in her waiting room and then still fill the urine sample to the top (that would be my third pee in about 30 minutes)

Doc is now thinking maybe urinary tract infection, but there's no pain or anything so I don't know.

Just wanted ot post an update and once again, thank everyone for their help, I came across this forum by accident while looking up my symptoms and I must say it Rocks! Thanks Guys.

you can get a period while PG and vasectomies can reverse themselves....there are plenty of ladies in the maternal forum that have had gotten PG cuz DHs tube grew back. more than likely from what you are describing is that your cycles are changing a bit ...lomnger to shorter. this means that maybe your amount and consistancy of discharge is changing too. if it is white, creamy, nonirritating, and not foul smelling than you are in the normal. like i said i have some cycles that i have had this type of discharge and wasn't PG. i am having this type now but have no clue if i am or not.

have your boyfriend get checked to make sure he is ok and has no sperm. i really do believe it is just your body cleaning itself out so to speak. the vagina makes a lot of discharge the more sex you have...natural douche. and especially if you are not in a ovulatory phase this is quite common. hope this helped.

Actually, I haven't been on any form of birth control for over a year now. Boyfriend had a vasectomy, though he never did go for his follow up to be sure it worked.

Can you be pregnant and still get a period? I haven't missed any, though they have been a little out of whack and definitely shorter than usual.

The failure rate for vasectomies is about 2 per 1000, so it wouldn't be common at all for it to have failed!.  But he should have gotten checked afterwards, and it wouldn't be a bad idea to do it now.

Stop using the Monistat and go to your doctor to find out for sure what's going on.  The monistat might make it hard to tell what is causing the problem.  If you do have yeast, your doctor might give you something different that might work better.

There is no reason to panic, chances are it is just a simple infection that can be cleared up easily.

well white creamy discharge is quite normal for woman before and after ovulation. as long as there is no burning or itching you are fine. the swelling could be an irritation from sex or if you just ovulated the surge of progesterone can cause the vagina to swell from increased blood flow. if you have been on a contraceptive pill or device you want to go make sure it is working. to tell you the truth you sound like you could be pregnant. i have the same symptoms in early pregnancy...before i could even test. i had abundance of thick creamy discharge and a swollen hoo haw :) i have also had these symptons when my bc failed or i was just coming off of it. so i would call the docter, especially if you have had unprotested sex....some women get periods when pregnant and birth control ...even if failing to work right....can cause enough of a so called period that you would not suspect you are PG. hope this helps....kimmie
