My sister has been to one doctor/specialist after another and as yet has not been able to get a diagnosis of her complaint.  Can anyone please throw any light on it for us.

She has extreme amounts of string like mucus down her throat and in her mouth, which she feels is causing the problem of a sore tongue, gums and very sore, dry mouth, with a foul taste and very often aching teeth.  Most of these symptoms are contant and she finds are worse with talking, especially the sorness.

Other symptoms are, watery mucus escaping from her nose when she hold her head down to clean her teeth or do everyday jobs.  One other sympton is a terrible buringin sensation in the mouth going down into stomach at times.

Every day this gets worse, with certain foods and drinks.  It used to get slightly better after this, a sort of two steps forward and one step back, so that each day it was a little worse.  But now when it gets worse it never goes back.  Her one pleasure is an ice-cream lolly coated in chocolate. at 9.00pm every night.  But when it is finished she is in agony again.  

She is seeing yet another specialist on Monday next and is dreading it in case he says there is nothing he can do.  She had reach the end of her tether and says she does not want to live like this. So you can imagine how worried I am that she might do something foolish.

PLEASE PLEASE CAN ANYONE THOW ANY LIGHT ON WHAT IT MIGHT BE AND GIVE HER HOPE FOR THE FUTURE.

Has she taken any drugs before??

Is she taking any medications at present? Some of them can have side effects which can cause issues. If she is, she may need to change brands.
