My Period is late, possible reasons why?

My period was supposed to come on Thursday, the 27th of December, and it is now the 29th, it still has yet to come. My period is usually pretty predictable, and on time, either being one to two days late, but it usually would have started by now. I've had symptoms this past week of my period, large amounts of clear discharge, crampy feeling/bloating, bubbly stomach. Am I stressing out over nothing? I'm not at all sexually active, so I know 100 % it's not because of that, but I'm still worried that if it doesn't come by atleast sometime tomorrow, then something might be wrong with me. Is this normal for a period to suddenly be a few days late/come later than expected?

Hi there and welcome to the forum.  Well, with pregnancy off the table, then it could be any number of reasons why it is late.  Some women just have a blip in the hormonal system and have an off month.  Stress can also make a period late.  If you were sick, if you suffer mild depression, are highly anxious about something---  all could cause a late period.  Hypothyroidism was a reason for me which means my thyroid was working slowly.  It caused my hormones to be off.  I would start pms symptoms and wait and wait.  This problem for me fixed on its own.

So, I wouldn't worry at this point.  If it never comes, then make an appt. with your doc pronto.  If it continues to be extremely long in terms of cycles getting longer and longer, then you might set up a check up to talk about this with your doctor.  Lots of luck to you.
