My vaginal area is very discolored from the rest of my body.

well, i am 18 years old, never been sexually active in my life, and a very pale girl, but my vaginal area seems to be a very dark, purplish color.  i have always thought there was something wrong with it, because it doesnt look normal to me. honestly, im pretty scared i might have diabetes, but i dont know. its very embarrassing to look at it at all. is there any explanation for this? please! if there is i want to know.

I am dark skinned (my parents are from India) and have darkened inner thighs as well. I went to my dermatologist for acne treatment and as I did a little research I realized I show symptoms of polycystic ovary syndrome.. darkened skin, acne, weight, etc. I think it's worth it see a doctor, my family doctor was reluctant to refer me to a dermatologist but I am so glad that he eventualy did because I think I'm getting somewhere.

is it the inside part or the outside part that touches ur thighs?
either way just know that there are others who have ur problem!!! ur not alone!! if u feel comfortable enough with ur doctor then let them know!
theres space for reasonable concern and u can never be too careful!

some of the symptoms of diabetes are if you have to pee alot, or if you are always thirsty. Also, you may have dry skin or you may be very hungry and gain or lose lots of weight. I bet that your vagina is normal, many women are insecure of their vaginas, and yours is probably normal. I hope you don't have diabetes, because my sister has  it and it has been hard for her. Hope you are ok!
